    You Sealed My Fate

    "Say something please!" Bette pleaded.
Tina was standing there without moving, listening the song and Bette’ s words were playing in her head again and again. ‘I was in quicksand and you couldn’ t see that to come and resque me’. How blind I was? Was it so hard for me that I didn’ t see her pain?

    "Tina?"

"The very beggining was difficult" Tina started talking softly lost in her memories. "To quit my job to prepare my body for out baby was difficult. But I stopped all the negative thoughts when I saw your face the day I quit. You where thrilled! Your eyes were smiling and the spark in them was greater than ever before. I knew I had made the right decision. I wanted so bad to give you the family we dreamed about when our relationship was still young. After I quit you were working more and more. I know that you did it because we were about to start our family and we needed money but I wanted you to be there for me too. I was alone all day. You were coming home late almost every night. I had missed you, just being with you.  When the first two insaminations didn’ t work I was disapointed with me. I was nervous. Why I couldn’ t be pregnant? What if my body wasn’ t able for the concept? And then Marcus. I wasn’ t rejecting you that day. How could I? I was just wondering how much rejection can a child handle? Biracial and with gay parents. I know from your stories how difficult it was for you to be biracial. I can only imagine how hard it was for you. On the other hand, I knew much, the rejection of being gay, hurts. My own family shut me down. How would a child feel with the combination of these two? This was my fear. I wasn’ t rejecting you. I could never do that and I never will. I fall in love with you because you have the kindest heart I’ ve ever saw in a person, man or woman. When I looked at you I don’ t see a biracial woman. I see the woman I love! I would have follow you to the stars even if you were green!" She stopped talking as she saw tears in Bette’ s eyes. She wipped them away.
