You Have Got to be Kidding Me Ch. 29

    Tina: Bette’s mother called you?

    Marie nodded her head.

"Okay well for the record I was not mean to her. We had a discussion about her taking a detective job on Plutara and we disagree on whether or not she should take the job," Tina said matter of factly.

“She said you said absolutely no,” Marie said.

    Tina looks away.

Tina: Okay I admit I may have overreacted.

    Marie: You think?

Tina: Yeah it’s just I’ve found the love of my life and I don’t want to lose her.

Marie: Then why didn’t you say that?

Tina: I don’t know I guess I didn’t want Bette to know my fears…my weakness.

Marie: Tina, honey one think you need to know about relationships is that you need to let the main thing be the main thing.

    Tina looked perplexed.

Marie: Say what you really mean unwise communicating with your wife will seem of no benefit.

Tina: Yeah you’re right. Thanks, mom

    Tina hugs her motherly tightly.

“It’s what I’m here for,” Marie said hugging her daughter back.

Marie: Now go and make it right.

“I don’t know about making it right but I will certainly try and let the main thing be the main thing,” Tina said laughing while trying to wink at her mother at the same time.

    Marie just smiles back.

    Tina beams away

“Silly girl,” Marie said out loud shaking her head and smiling.

    Two days later

Bette and Tina had made up. Tina had apologized profusely to Bette for her behavior and explained her fear of losing Bette. Bette accepted Tina’s apology.  They talked it out about the dangers of Bette’s job. Tina made Bette swear not to take any chances or be a superhero so to speak. They also talked about if Bette’s work got too dangerous that she would resign. They sealed their agreement with a kiss and…of course more than a kiss.

    Day five

Bette woke Tina up screaming in pain. Tina woke up in a daze but instinctively shielded Bette.

Bette: Oh my God get off! Oooohhhhhh!

“It’s just a false alarm honey. It will pass.” Tina said sleepily and laid her head back down.

Bette was attempting to practice breathing in and out when Tina made that statement. If it wasn’t for the fact that Bette loved Tina more than her own life she would have strangled Tina for that statement.

“Tina honey I don’t think it’s a false alarm this time,” she said as politely as she could.

    Tina was fast asleep.

    Bette shook Tina.

“Ooohhh God! She’s coming!” Bette yelled.

Tina stood straight on her feet.

“No not the baby,” Tina said without thinking.

Bette: Yes the baby and if we don’t beam to the hospital right now. She will be born right here.

“Oh my God,” Tina started pacing.

Tina: What am I going to do. Who can I call at this hour?

Bette: Tiinna! Oooohhhhh! Get one of the beamers!

Tina was running around the room trying to find a beamer.

Bette had forgotten that she sat her beamer on the edge of the nightstand. She grabbed the beamer and said Energize.

Tina was still running around the room.  She then suddenly stopped due to realizing that Bette was no longer in their bedroom.

Tina: Bette? Bette honey where are you?

Tina finally stopped long enough to see her beamer also on her nightstand. She grabbed it and searched the ship. No Bette.

Just then Olivia beamed down and told Tina to come with her that Bette was at the hospital getting ready to have their baby. Tina didn’t hesitate.
