You Are The Light That Makes My Darkness Disappear – Chapter Thirteen.

“Mom are you going to be okay?”

“Yah honey, this is just too much for me.”

“Yah, I wished we’d never even went to the concert now.”

“Aw honey. You enjoyed it didn’t you.”

“Well, yah, but not at the expense of your happiness. It was just a stupid concert; you’re my mom.”

“Oh honey that’s sweet, but Spence, as you know she was everything to me. It’s just really strange.”

“I know Mom, but why are you so scared that she’ll find out? So what if she does. That doesn’t mean anything.”

“Honey, if Bette Porter is still the woman I once knew, and if she still feels the same way I do; then she’ll do anything. And it scares me that she holds so much of my heart. I can’t have her again to loose her.”

“So don’t. Just make her part of your past. Leave her there. Mom you’re gorgeous; you’ll meet someone new.”

“Honey, thank you for saying that. But you just don’t know Bette like I do. Just know that whatever happens I love you.”

She pulled her daughter into a hug.

“I love you too mom, but you’re scaring me.”

“I’m sorry honey. I am just scared.”

“I know, but why? If you love her so much; then love her.”

    “It’s not that simply.”

“It’s not that simple because you’re making it difficult.”

    Tina sighed.

    “I don’t know honey. I just don’t know.”

“It’s okay mom, it’s not me who you have to answer to. You don’t have to answer to Bette Porter either. You only have to answer to yourself. And mom I know for a fact that you are going to make the best choice for yourself because I know how strong and amazing you are. You’ll know what’s best for you.”

“Honey thank you, but I don’t only have to think about me, but I have to think about you too. What’s best for you.”

“No Mom you don’t. You have to think about you. I’m old enough to take care of myself now. Please just do what makes you happy.”

“Okay baby. Okay. Let’s just go inside and get some sleep.”

    “Alright mom. I love you.”

The girls got out of the car and walked into the house. After Tina made sure Spencer was in bed she walked up to her room and turned her phone back on. She had three messages from Arthur asking her to come back to New York so that he could be closer to the two of them, which made her laugh hysterically because he was now remarried and had a new family. But he still insisted that he love Tina and Spencer more than anything in the world. After listening to all the messages, she plugged her phone in and got under the covers. She pulled out an old photo album and looked at some old pictures of her and Bette. Pictures from their honeymoon in Acapulco. Some where just from in the back yard lounging around the pool. She finally flipped to the last page. One she always had savored. A picture of Bette sleeping. They’d just finished making love, and Bette had passed out cold. She never even budged from the flash of the camera. It made Tina smiled as the tears fell down her cheeks. She finally put the pictures away and turned off the lamp and fell into a restless night’s sleep.

    1. I always have said even if only 1 writer is still writing I will stay. I like this story very much, so Tina this chappy caught her spirit and emotions perfectly

    2. Spencer is a very wise young lady and Tina has reared her very well. Wonder what picture Bette goes to bed with at night when she is thinking of Tina? Great chapter. As long as you post I will be up reading. Love this story. PPS
