    Woman of My Dreams

    Chapter 1

Jennifer stood in front of the blank canvas and almost laughed at the irony.  The canvas was like her life she had no memory before 6 months ago.  She didn’t have any memory of who she was or for that matter any memory of her life before waking up in the Ecuadorian hospital 6 months ago.  She didn’t even know if Jennifer was her real name.  It was just the name she had picked out.  She had been working with her therapist for the last 5 months trying to make sense out of the dreams she continued to have about a beautiful woman and child.  During her early sessions, they had discovered that she liked to sketch so she had been given paper and charcoals to try and capture her dreams.  4 months later she had begun to paint those dreams but the central figure in each picture never seemed to change…a beautiful blonde woman.  Sometimes the dreams were at a house and sometimes they were at the sea shore.  There had also been a beautiful little girl in some of the dreams.  Jennifer had tried to capture those dreams in color.  So today she stood in front of the blank canvas and began to paint a picnic at the sea shore.

After spending the morning hours working on her latest painting, Jennifer went to the child center for art classes.  She taught art to the children at the center.  Dr. Roberts had gotten her the job 3 months ago as it became apparent that Jennifer’s memory was not going to return any time soon.  Jennifer loved working with the children.  Most were from poverty stricken homes and others were orphans that lived at the center.  Jennifer just loved to spend time with the children.  They didn’t care who she had been.  They love her for who she was and that was so comforting to her.

Today she was met at the door by Dr. Roberts.  “Hey Doc how are things going today” Jennifer said with a smile.

“Today is a good day.  I have found a foundation in the United States that funds programs for underprivileged children.”  Dr. Roberts replied.

“Hey that is great!  How do we apply?” Jennifer questioned.
