Without Tim – Part 14 (Season 1 Recap; Ep. 201 Part 1)
Tina “The only one who turned on me was Bette. She’s the only one I’m upset with. She took seven years of our lives…and she turned it to shit.”
Lara nods.
Lara “And you can’t let that emotion get the better of you. Because if you do, she wins. She suddenly feels as if she’s justified. You never want her to feel that. Let her be the one to fly into a rage…in her own dispair. Let her be the one who finally feels that hurt. If she loves you? She’ll feel that…and she’ll feel that hurt for a long time and then…it’ll be time to decide what happens next.”
Tina “I’m so fucking lost right now.”
Lara nods.
Lara “And you’re going to. It’s understandable. And if you need to scream, we’ll go to your car and you will be free to scream as loud as you want into my shoulder…even if it takes my entire break. I don’t care. As long as I can be there so you can let that emotion out. …Okay?”
Tina “…Okay.”
Lara “One…two…three.”
Lara slowly lets go of Tina’s hands. Tina wipes away some tears as Lara opens the office door, walking out with Tina. Tina walks with her arms crossed and looking down as Lara walks with her. Like Bette, Tina says nothing as she and Lara walk by the table. Lara quickly runs over to Dana.
Lara “Hey.”
Lara gives Dana a kiss on the lips.
Dana “She okay?”
Lara whispers “Not really. I’ll be right back.”
Lara goes back to the exiting Tina, looking at Marina.
Lara “I’m going on break.”
Lara exits with Tina, walking her to her car.
Tina “So what happened to you?”
Lara “What do you mean?”
Tina “What was your big heartbreak?”
Lara “Dana. But thankfully we worked things out. Two years ago, I was in a relationship, but it turned out the woman I thought I was girlfriends with was already engaged.”
Tina “Ohhhh…that’s the thing with Robin, right?”
Lara “Right.”
Tina “Alice told me. Hopefully that wasn’t something I wasn’t supposed to know.”
Lara “It’s fine. Actually my biggest heartbreak was my family.”
Tina “Oh…yeah when you were in school. Christmas break…”
Lara grins, almost laughing.
Lara “Please don’t take this the wrong way, but you’re lucky.”
Tina looks at Lara, puzzled.
Tina “What?”
Lara “The things that happened to me, there was no one to turn to. No friends to trust, no family to really confide in. If nothing else, with all of this shit…you have us.”
Tina sighs.
Tina “I’m glad you guys are around.”
Lara “I’m glad they’re around, too. And I’m glad you’re around.”
Tina smiles as she makes it to her car.
Lara “Like I said, if you need to scream.”
Tina “No…I’m fine. I just needed to calm down. Thanks.”
Tina gives Lara a hug.
Lara “Anytime.”
Tina grins.
Tina “Dana’s in there waiting for you. If I can give you any advice…it’s to make sure she knows how special she is to you as much as possible. That way you don’t wind up like Bette and I.”
Tina carefully gets in her car which Lara is quick to notice, especially as Tina appears to cover something up with her coat. Tina turns the ignition and departs as Lara steps away, wondering if there was something physical Tina was hiding. She then turns, walking back to The Planet where she sees Dana walking up to her.
Dana “Sorry, I couldn’t help it. I think Tonya wants to go over some stuff.”
Dana and Lara wrap their arms around one another in a loving embrace.
Lara “I wanted to make sure she was okay before leaving. It got a little heated in there with her and Bette.”
Dana “Damn.”
Lara “Hey.”
Lara brings Dana’s chin up with her right index finger.
Lara “I love you.”
Dana smiles.
Dana “I love you, too.”
The two kiss for a moment, then walk back inside, holding hands. With all of the stress and commotion from Bette and Tina, there is still some assurance of stability somewhere.
