Window of Opportunity ch. 75
We finally made our way back down the aisle into the house for a few minutes alone. Helena had taken Angie to have some more pictures taken and Bette and I were going to have family pictures taken before we changed into more relaxing clothes but we had decided that after the ceremony, we needed and wanted a few minutes alone. We made our way into the bedroom as all our friends and family stayed outside and started to get drinks.
“Thank you showing up.” I told her as I gave her a kiss.
“Yes, I tried to find something else to do but all my friends had other plans so I figured that I would go ahead and show.”
“You ass! Thanks for those lovely words.”
“For someone who was nervous about writing your vows, you did great.”
“Thanks. You were right. Speaking from my heart made it easy.”
“How are you feeling?”
“A little tired but good. I can’t believe we’re married.”
“Second thoughts?”
“Never. I couldn’t be happier in this moment if I tried.”
“Me either. Let’s get some family pictures done and get you something to eat. You are going to die when you see the video of Angie walking down the aisle. She was too cute. You probably saw that there weren’t a lot of flowers on the ground. She was too busy waving and throwing kisses out to remember to throw the flowers.” We laughed. As long as she had a good time, that’s all that mattered. We again kissed and made our way outside. Before we could make it to where the photographer was waiting, we received hugs from our family. That time with them just minutes after such a glorious celebration seemed even more right in my mind. When we finally started going to be photographed, he was no longer standing there and I looked around. He was over taking pictures of Dana’s chair. That made me happy to know we would also have lasting memories of her contribution to our day. When he saw we were ready, he headed to us. First Angie, Bette and I took pictures. Then Bette and I. We then had our pictures taken with Kit. By the time the pictures were done, we had every imaginable combination of our family. I was alone with David and Luke. Bette, Kit, Vanessa and David. The girls. We were exhausted but happy. Helena finally took Angie to change her out of her dress. I wished her luck as they walked off. I didn’t think that Angie would be cooperative allowing her dress to be removed. As I stood and talked to some people, I saw Helena come back alone. I excused myself and walked over to her. Bette had been talking to Vanessa and also saw Helena come out alone. She arrived at Helena at the same time I did.

Tina was right, there is nothing more in life that’s better than being with the one you love in every sense of the word. Your description of the wedding, reception and everything was very beautiful almost as if we were there with them. No, it could not get much better that night for Bette and Tina. I loved the note that Angie had sent (of course with the help of an adult). Angie and her flower throwing duty must have been a sight to see. Love both of your stories.
