    Window of Opportunity ch. 72

“At least we got here together.”

Our talking was replaced with kisses and then hands started exploring. We made love to one another slowly and tenderly. As we lay there afterwards with my hands resting on her stomach, I knew I had never felt such joy before in my life. The ceremony was just a way for us to express our love before our family and friends. As much as I thought I needed it in the past to validate us, laying there touching where our babies were growing and basking in the love that she was radiating, I knew I didn’t need that validation. Every day as we grew as a couple validated how right our relationship was and how right we were for one another. We finally got up and went to shower together. Unlike yesterday when we had so many fears that we actually comforted one another and showered, this morning we made love again in the shower. We went out to see what was happening at our home and it was bustling with activity. Alice and crew were actually there and it looked beautiful. The flowers had arrived. Helena and Vanessa had come and picked Angie up to entertain her and keep her away from the activities. They had taken her dress with them.

Catherine had breakfast ready for us and we both sat down and ate. Alice came in and joined us. We ate quickly because Shane was going to be popping between both houses getting us all ready. I thanked Catherine and went into the room to get my things. Tina came with me and we kissed and I promised to meet her at the altar before grabbing my things and going to Shane’s.

Shane’s place was like a staging area. There were outfits everywhere. Kit had warming trays set up throughout so that when the food arrived, it could be placed in the trays. There were plates and all that we would use to eat. Shane was smiling brightly and could have cared less that her home had been taken over. I showed her the tiara and told her about Tina’s birthday party that didn’t happen. I asked if she could make it happen and she told me that of course she could.

    1. Awww… Have I told you lately, NAG, how I absolutely, freakin’ love this story? I don’t know how your writing can get any better and I can’t thank you enough for the love and joy you poured out in this chapter and all the 71 previous ones. I wholeheartedly agree with these lines => “The ceremony was just a way for us to express our love before our family and friends. As much as I thought I needed it in the past to validate us, laying there touching where our babies were growing and basking in the love that she was radiating, I knew I didn’t need that validation. Every day as we grew as a couple validated how right our relationship was and how right we were for one another.” The wedding will cap the many highlights of these soul mates’ beautiful, triumphant love story. I think all of us will be wiping away happy tears by the time we hear/read their wedding vows. *Thanks a bunch, NAG!* And Shane’s secret fondness for Winnie the Pooh and friends made me LMAO! :>

    2. Well, I am officially a captive audience for any story with your name on it! That was absolutely beautiful from beginning to end. I will never tire of this story or the way you write it. When it’s over…I will officially be in mourning!

    3. I agree with everything Dainty wrote. Thank you for this beautiful chapter (as I wipe a tear away). The love and devotion shown by everyone is beautiful. I also love how Tina always leaves a note, and the necklace was too precious (wipe tear away again). I cannot wait to see how you write the wedding sequence and their vows, I know that it will be breathtaking!! Again, thank you for keeping this story alive and giving us what Ilene has never been able to do; the perfect love story of our favorite couple.

    4. This story just keeps getting better with each word you write. I believe I can speak for all of that reads this story that we’re so happy that you love “our girls” and that love shows in this brilliantly written story of them, their family and their very deep and devoted love for one another. Thank you so much for posting all the chapters that you have this weekend. It has been a wonderful treat to discover each chapter the last few days. You showed all the love, care , concern and devotion for “our girls” by everyone and it is so wonderful to read and is a beautiful tribute to deep and everlasting love in our community. Thank you. Hugs and kisses to baby G. Post when you can.

    6. L,once again you have outdone yourself. First and formost I have to say “I knew you liked Shane and could see her soft side” haha. Love all the careing from the fam and you well know but laughed when Peggy made her apparence, in such Paggy fasion. I my heart I know you will always let the girls be ok, but with those twists and turns ya can shake us up. Thank you for the concern of my health, I have little time for recovery so know that I’m good and wrecking things daily, but fixed a lot of things at the habitat house yesterday, it’s comming along nicely.Ok, I’m looking over at a minilla folder, and thinking were almost in the same place w/If you never say anything, NAG, love both but this is a part of my life now so please ring those wedding bells. I got tissue and am ready. Tell mom thanks for cooking, it keeps you writing, Good day today and always. Md

    7. the conversation with bette and sam brought tears to my eyes.. sam was so loving to bette and showed no judgement about the past… wow. love how catherine knows when to step in and how not to overstep the boundries…Peggy is just too much, lol. bette and shane did me in, i can imagine how the rest of them are gonna be when they get their gifts… :)PPS

    8. This chapter was a happy emotional one for me. All the love shown by every person in their family was enlightening. It just goes to show that you do not have to be blood related to share a wonderful family. I was extremely happy that you have included Tina’s mom, dad and biological father. Hope that the G man allowed you to get some well deserved rest.
