    Window of Opportunity

    Chapter 57

    Tina

I barely remember my head hitting the pillow. I was so tired by the time Bette and I made it to bed that I know we kissed and when I woke, the sun was streaming through the windows. I just laid there watching Bette sleeping beside me. I wanted to touch her so badly and wake her gently with some love but I didn’t think she was quite ready on our first morning to have a heart attack at the thought of only a door separating us from my parents. I would give her a couple days to acclimate to the surroundings before I attacked her. Hopefully, I would be able to wait a couple days. If not, we would be making a trip to the hotel and kicking Shane and Alice out of their room. There was no way in hell that after not having her for such a long time now that I have her, I would deprive myself for too long.

Because of the aroused state that I woke up in, I grabbed some clothes and went in to take a cold shower. It did little to relieve me of the desire I felt for her but at least, I would be able to make it through the day. When I came out of the bathroom she still hadn’t moved. I stood in front of one of the pictures hanging on the wall that was a Luke creation and was mesmerized by how beautiful it was. Knowing little about art, I looked at it from an appreciative stance and I did love it. The colors were vibrant and as Bette always said, it made me feel something deep within my soul. It was a feeling I couldn’t put to words but the effect it had me was one of serenity. I could only imagine what the ones he had waiting for me would be like. I hoped that we would be able to go over in the next day or so to start looking at them and to meet David. We had spoken on the phone a couple of times and his voice was so soothing. He told me how excited Luke was to have me in his life and I felt the same.

    1. So glad to see your post, Newy, and the wisdom shining through. We have probably all needed those places that we can mentally retreat to when things are tough. I think they help us through the tough times, but in my experience the imagination is usually more soothing than the reality. Great update – nice to see Tina achieving some peace of mind.

    2. What an incredible story…really everytime I finish a chapter I am amazed. I really feel like I’m reading someone’s diary…a real person’s…that’s how vividly you tell your story. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the little man is on his best behaviour and we might get another chapter tomorrow!

    3. What a beautiful new chapter…well…er…as always! *The Clearing* sounds marvelous…and brings back memories of *The Pines* in my youth. That’s what makes this tale so *alive*…I’d like to shrink and go vividly back in time…not that I haven’t…Amazing! Thank you!

    4. Lovely and well-written as always, newagegirl! I love the way you described the Clearing. I can picture it vividly in my head. I sure wish I have an idyllic place like that to retreat to, to clear my head. I understand what Tina’s going through. It’s nice to look back but it’s bittersweet too because the place is not the same anymore, she’s outgrown her friends and she’s the same person as before. And yeah, home is where the heart is and in Tina’s case, it’s with Bette and Angie, and her parents and friends. Will Tina bump into any of her ex-boyfriends? I think that would be interesting. I hope the couple will also enjoy a night at the drive-in theater. I bet Tina will make sure it will be a memorable make out session. :> And of course, they have to bring back good memories of that lovely creek. Whew! They have a lot on their plate. I wonder how the town will react to Shane and Alice? Thanks for your last 3 wonderful posts, newagegirl! And hugs and kisses to your little one. :)

    5. Just want to add that I LOL at the way Bette and Tina treated Alice like the 10-year old Kevin of “Home Alone” in Chapter 55. Tina wanting to take Bette’s shirt off while she’s eating berries just like Angie is also a LOL moment. You sure have the flair not only for romance and drama but also for comedy. THANKS! :)

    6. This is such a beautiful story to read, I love the trip down memory lane for Tina, and is great that Bette is there to share all her past memories. Looking forward to your next wonderful update.
