    Chapter 25

    Tina

    My life right now is fucking unbelievable. There is no way else to describe it. Shana and I totally avoided one another at the airport and upon arriving in San Francisco, there was a car waiting to take the three of us to the site where the director we were courting was located.  They were on a hiatus when we arrived and he was there to greet us. He basically ignored the other two and asked me to take a walk with him. I liked him immediately. He pulled no punches.

    “Thanks for seeing us on such short notice Chris. I really appreciate it.” I told him as we started walking.

    “Tina, we can cut the bullshit. I know that they sent you, the head dog, to try and sweet talk me into doing this picture. As much as I would like to see the dog and pony show that I’m sure they want you to perform, it isn’t necessary. I read the script, watched some of the takes that have already been done and I want to do this. If we can work out the logistics, I’m in. You can go back and tell them you gave me the hard sell and I fell for it.  I don’t know those other two but have only heard good things about you so I’m willing to take this chance if you still want me.”

    I was stunned. This wasn’t how it was done in this business. I hadn’t stated my appeal to him and he was in. I guess being asked to take over for one the best directors in the business is in itself a compliment. My job was safe and I would be back home soon.  Hell, since Chris and I were the only ones privy to this conversation, my job better have a raise involved. “Chris, this is the best news I’ve heard lately. I’m sure we can work with whatever it is you need to make this happen. Tom is fantastic as an AD so he will be able to assist you in any questions that you have. Shana is in charge of locations and will need to know if you are ok with the present ones or if she needs to scout for new ones. We will do anything to make this happen.”

    6. I do love this story so very much. If you posted every day it would not be too much for me. I know we have to wait for a couple days but I wish we didn’t. Would love to know what the other two envelopes hold. Hope they are all lighthearted. The steps they are taking now are just right for them at this point. I feel thatTina will ramp thisgs up a bit when she gets back. PPS

    10. It was a perfect ending to a perfect day. Hopefully Shana will back off now. She had to have seen the sparks flying off of the pair as their mouths dueled.
