Weho Days – part 3 – Collecting Angie

    ====== Collecting Angie ======

The Mercedes purred to a halt outside Bette’s house.  Helena scrolled down the window, and bipped her horn.  After a few seconds the door opened and Bette Porter stepped into the sunlight.  If another human being had ever looked that good in a white shirt, cutoffs and sandals then Helena wanted to meet her.

"Who’s that Mummy," queried Wilson.  "She looks very beautiful."

"Her name is Bette Porter.  She’s a friend.  We are going to collect her daughter, Angelica, after this.  You’ve met Angelica."

"Oh yes.  She lives with her other Mummy.  Like me and Juny."

Bette had made her way to the Mercedes by this time.  She was carrying two bags and Helena scrambled to get out of the car to help her.

"Hi" said Helena, feeling oddly shy.

"Why have you sacked Tina?" queried the dark goddess abruptly.  Helena eyed Bette warily.  With her eyes hidden behind sun-glasses, Helena wasn’t sure exactly what Bette was feeling.  She didn’t sound too friendly.

"Let’s talk about it on the way."

"Are you sure that you are welcome at Tina’s home today?"

"I didn’t sack Tina.  My mother did.  Along with me and everyone else at Shaolin."

Bette exhaled and looked away.  "So the decision to close the studio had nothing to do with our conversation the other day, because Helena, I distinctly remember you saying that you would fire Tina’s ass and what do you know, scarcely four days later and Tina’s on the breadline."

"Okay I would be lying if I didn’t say it gave me some satisfaction and God knows I would find it hard to work with her after what she’s done to you but Bette the writing was on the wall for Shaolin.  We probably wouldn’t have survived another year…"

"But you did ask Peggy to close the studio."

    "Yes I did."

    "Great.  Just fucking great."

"Bette!"  Helena gestured at the car where Wilson and Jun Ying were hanging out of the window staring curiously at their mother and her ‘friend’.

"Sorry, sorry…you know that Tina will blame me."

"Not everything is about you and Tina," Helena snapped angrily.  "Anyway I’ve spoken to Tina, gone through the figures with her.  She knows what the situation is."

"Mummy!   When are we going to the beach?"

    1. I think Henry should be spirited away to work at the bottom of a diamond mine in Azania! BTW, what ever became of your story with the phone calls – is this a continuation? Thanks!

    2. I’m glad Henry was taken away by the undercover cops. He is jerk for saying those things to Tina, Bette and Helena. I do feel bad for Helena. She will be going to the beach and have to witness the strong bond that Bette and Tina still have for each other. They may say hurtful things to each other, but their body language always says they are still connected.

    3. okay…liked it..but not feeling it…have absoltely, positively, unequivocally no sympathy for tina…it’s all about b&h…leave tina at the his-ouse to think about henry…really good chapter to inspire this much emotion. lol…post soon.

    4. This by far the best and most realistic Bette/Helena story. I think Tina deserves to stew in her confusion and be jealous over Bette and Helena’s growing bond. I seriously need more of this wonderful story.

    5. It’s a shame Bette has been reduced to a timid, silent, passive person because she is in constant fear of Tina taking Angelica away. It seems that Tina has all the cards, hopefully she will start to play fair…even though this is their lives and not a game. That was funny, Helena’s security taking Henry away…he deserved it, he was being way out of line. Hopefully the way he was talking about everyone Tina has gotten rid of him for good. Helena can’t be too pushy with Bette or she will push her right back to Tina.

    6. i hope helena keeps that image of bette, angel and tina forever etched in her mind!!! she can’t have them both, I mean Tina and Bette…and Tina is not straight just confused and conflicted over Bette’s betrayal of her with candybabe as would anyone be!!!!

    7. I really liked this chapter, I just don’t liked when Bette invited Tina. She should say NO and stay in her house sad and crying =P And Henry huh? LOL I laughed a lot, he deserved it… Please keep going, and let Bette, Angie, Helena and her children have a good time together…
