    Author Notes:

    After their respective lunch interludes, Bette and Tina have an evening together planned, although things don’t go quite as expected.

    Previously..

    Then there was tonight, and a movie with Tina. Something light and fun, maybe with Angelina Jolie or Drew Barrymore. She wondered if they would buy popcorn and cuddle in the back row? Bette laughed to herself, thinking how absurd the situation was at times. In a perfect world, she and Tina should be cuddling on their own couch, making popcorn in their own kitchen. Bette hoped that perfect world wasn’t too far out of reach.

    When Bette arrived to pick up Tina later that day, she was slightly surprised to find her in her robe and looking rather frazzled. Her pulse picked up for a moment seeing her state of undress, wondering if Tina had other plans for them.

    Unfortunately, the other plans, while real, were not quite what Bette would have hoped.

     

    “Bette, would you mind if we took a rain check on tonight? I’m feeling really rough this evening,” Tina said as she stood in the doorway.

     

    “Are you OK Tina?” Bette was instantly worried. “Have you called Dr Wilson? I can take you down to the hospital if you like.”

     

    “Calm down babe,” Tina laughed. “It’s just indigestion. Heavy lunch, you know,” she explained.

     

    “Are you sure Tina? Because I really don’t think you should be taking any chances,” Bette moved closer to her, feeling her forehead for any signs of fever.

     

    Tina slapped away her hand playfully. She had definitely made a bad choice with all those pancakes, and was suffering for it now.

     

    “I just want to have a quiet evening at home Bette, I hope you don’t mind too much.”

     

    Bette really liked the sound of the quiet evening, but she was unsure whether she was included in Tina’s description. This was exactly what she had been talking to Kit about. Bette had a craving just to hang out with Tina, talk about nothing in particular.

    “So, can I come in T? I could make you some tea to settle your stomach? Maybe run you a bath? You know I do good backrubs,” she offered with a ***** smile.

     

    A night in with Bette? Tina loved the idea, but wasn’t sure if it was just a bit too cozy and settled. Ah, ***** it, she could do with a bit of pampering, and Bette had that look in her eye that let Tina know she would be at her beck and call. Not that Tina really wanted that. Bette had been just a tad too eager to please her since they had started dating.

    4. Loved this chapter. Both of them want to say so much, but cannot come up with just the right words. Bette is going to further surprise Tina, because I think she’s going to tell Tina exactly how she feels — she’s willing to finally show Tina all of her vulnerabilities to regain her true love.     12. Bette is so cute when she’s unsure and shy. Tina is pretty cute too with her inner dialogue about what she wants. It will be sad to see this story end, it’s been a great read. You have filled in the blanks wonderfully.
