    “Helena…” Tina looked back at the house and walked back up the steps. She walked to the door and banged on the door. The door swung open.

     

    “What!”

     

    “What is Helena doing here?”

    “I don’t think that’s any of your business Tina! What I do in my life does not involve you! So if you please, “ Bette took a deep breath. “Leave my home.” Tina sneered and walked off the porch. She stormed towards her car and got in. Bette walked back into the house and slammed the door. She walked back to her room, and Helena was sitting on the bed with the sheet around her.

     

    “What happened?”

     

    “The nerve of her! She is a piece of work! I can not stand her at this point!” Bette balled up her hands and groaned. She dropped back onto the bed and closed her eyes. “I want this to be over with…” Helena touched her cheek.

     

    “I’m sorry…”

     

    “…It’s not your burden. Don’t bring my problems upon yourself. I don’t want you to get in the crossfire.” Bette looked up at Helena. “Thank you.”

     

    “For what?”

     

    “For sticking around when you didn’t have to.” Helena smiled.

     

    “You’re more than welcome.”  Bette grabbed a hold of Helena’s hand and kissed the back of it. Helena tilted her head and squeezed Bette’s hand.

     

    “Why don’t we have a day at the beach?” Bette sat up.

     

    “That sounds like a plan.”

     

    “Well, I get dressed and head home, and you at my house in a half an hour.” Bette smiled.

    “I’ll be there.”  Helena smiled and leaned forward. She kissed Bette passionately and pulled away. Bette moaned and licked her bottom lip.

     

    “I love you,” Helena grinned.

     

    “Love you more,” she kissed Bette for a second time and got off the bed.

                Helena smiled when she saw Bette on her doorstep. She stood in the doorway and crossed her arms.

     

    “Right on time love,” Bette walked in the house and kissed Helena.

     

    “I’m never late for a date,” Helena closed the door and held out her hand.
