Suddenly, everything went black. Lara and Alice clung to each other and Carmen held tight to Shane. Hermes barked. Alex was surprised when she felt Sydney’s hand on her arm. She smiled wide.

Shane: Umm Alright, stay here guys I’m gonna go find a flashlight and some candles.

She kissed Carmen’s head and stood up.

Alex: I’m with ya.

She stood up, regrettably getting rid of Sydney’s grip. Her and Shane made their way into the kitchen where they stumbled around, trying to find candles and matches. Shane found a flash light first.

Shane: What’s up with you and Alice?

Alex: ME and Alice?

Shane: There’s a candle in the top cupboard. Are you sure you didn’t fuck her?

Alex: Who Alice? NO WAY! She’s my friend.

Shane: Good. But she seems all over protective girlfriend with you.

Alex: Maybe it’s just looking out for Sydney

Shane: Maybe.

Hopefully she thought.

Alex: I think we got enough.

Alex and Shane walked back to the living room and lit all the candles. They then re-took their seats.

Carmen: Guys, what do you say to some Balderdash?

Shane shrugged.

Alex: Sounds like fun!

Carmen: Alright, Shane come with me?

Shane: Babe, I just sat down.

Carmen: Fine! Lara?

Lara: Sure.

The two got up and Shane handed Carmen the flash light. They walked out, leaving Shane, Alice, Alex and Sydney by themselves.

Sydney: SO, this is fun.

Alex: Yeah.

Alice: SO much better if the lights were on.

The silence started. Shane tapped her foot on the ground. Alice never looked over at the two teens and Alex was suddenly amused with her hands. Just then, Carmen and Lara walked back in.

            Two hours later, the storm was in full swing. However, the gang was laughing their heads off, having a great time. Everyone loved Alex and Shane’s crude humor in their definitions. When yawns started to drop, the idea of sleep was thought by everyone. Shane set up the pull-out bed for Lara and Alice. She then turned to Sydney.

Shane: DO you want an air mattress out here or you can stay with Alex.
