Chapter 39
Lower Manhattan
Instinctively Tina stopped and looked to her left and saw Alice, quickly turning around, with her back to both Alice and Bette.
“Hi…” Alice looked at Bette and then the bouquet and back at Bette.
“Hi Al, you are back.” Bette gazed back at Tina in concern. She couldn’t tell what was going through her mind and it was killing her. There went her plan of spending a romantic evening together.
“Yes. I just got in this afternoon. I left you a message. Did you get it?” Alice asked.
“I must have.” Bette lied through her teeth, thinking she should check her voicemails more often.
“What are you doing here?” Alice pressed on, still not believing that Bette had probably come to see her at the office.
“I just walked out of the station…and was coming to see you.”
“And these flowers?”
“They are for you.” Bette handed the bouquet to Alice, while looking at Tina.
One blonde was overjoyed. The other just felt her heart break a little. Tina closed her eyes in pain, swallowing down her misery. She walked away from Bette and Alice, giving the couple their privacy.
“Thanks.” Alice lost herself in the smell of the roses and looked back at Bette with adoring eyes.
Bette tried to ignore the way Alice was looking at her. It had been a long time since her wife looked at her with so much affection. The night they had that big fight before Alice had left for Los Angeles. She was supposed to go with her. Instead, she had stayed behind and cheated on her. It didn’t feel like cheating then. Now, standing in front of Alice, with Tina just a few feet away, it hit her smack in the face.
“I’ll see you later at home.”
“Yeah…”
She didn’t know that it was already too late.
Feeling a bit bold, Alice stroked her cheek and reached up to place a kiss on the corner of her lips. She let her hand trail down the front of the jacket and squeezed Bette’s hand.
“I know what happened with Peggy and Helena. Come home early so we can talk. I love you.”
Bette smiled at her and nodded. She had no doubt that there was a lot they needed to talk about. For the first time in a long time, she felt at ease with Alice despite the fact that she had just interrupted her date with Tina.

Nooooo! They must break-up, Tina & Eric and Bette & Alice. But you know this already…right? I trust that you will make this as it should be, TiBette forever.

Okay, hear me out. Don’t you think Tibette suck at communication now that they are fucking one another?And since they are fucking one another, they are also feeling guilty when they go back home. At the same time, the problems they used to have at home have disappeared save for one critical factor: Bette is in love with Tina and Tina is in love with Bette. Love will find a way.

The stranger is which Bette and Tina, they did not talk if they would go or not to finish his relationships with his spouses.
As I have stated in a previous comment, I waited a long time for your return, because I thoroughly enjoyed your writing, but I think this is were I get off the ride and stop the journey. Good reading to those who will continue, but for you die hard TiBetters at heart, I suggest you stop the bleeding now, because your heart will not be healed with this story, but if you just enjoy a great story, be brave and continue.

Mav, thanks for the update. It hurts to read that they have gone back to the spouses but they do have to talk to them after their absences and also find a way to break the heart rending news that they want a divorce because they are in love with someone else. Thanks for reassuring us that love will find a way and for them to be together in the end. I know this will sound horrible but now that Bette has the money she can give Alice a nice settlement and they can each go their own way. Hopsefully Tina will talk to Bette before she decides to stay with eric. Great update and thanks for coming back so soon with another chapter.
I really don’t understand how people can kiss someone and be in love with someone else! Even if we are talking about their own husbant and wife. And what do you mean easy? Didn’t they have enough already? Why do you put them through fire again? Fuck, don’t mind me please. I’m just impatient for them to be together and patience was never my strong point in real life. Tina throughout history has avoided Eric, more now that she found the love of his life, she is accepting his advancements. Really I do not understand.
