This is My Family…chapter 57
Then ***** broke loose. Right inside Kirsten’s head. But she was trained well, she was trained to keep her feelings at bay in times of stree…for her life’s sake. this seemed to be one of those moments. It seemed to be one of those moments because that moment was her sister, her *****’ sister. And how did Kirsten know it was her sister after 23 years…after leaving the rez at fifteen, in the night. She was sure of it. Blood knew blood.
”I just remembered i have to do sometihng?” “do what?” “just something, i have to do it alone, got to do wih work” “Kirsten are you ok?” “im fine! just go please” “don’t shut me out…don’t” “look i-i just have ***** to do ok go on, go back home to angie” “dont guilt me into leaving” “well what can i say i have to do stuff” “i cant belieave your doing this i didn’t expect you to turn like this” “im not turning on you i never turned on anyone in my life, there is just some personal stuff i rmeemberd i had to do….but hey…i’ll call you” “dont walk away from me Kirsten” “let go of my han…..thanks….sorry i’m being so vague, but you remember my mom died like a week ago? well i have to take care of things related to that…legal stuff…” “o…ok then…Kirsten im sorry, don’t worry about me” “your the best”
Kirsten approached slowly…unsure. It was so hard driving Bette away, she couldn’t stand to see the hurt in her eyes. But there was no way in ***** that she was going to allow Bette to particpate in this particular part of Kirsten’s life. There were some things people kept to themselves, at least in Kirsten’s view. She had lived by herself all her life from 15 onwards and so learned to keep most of herself safely tucked way, where only she could know and appreciate. It was good, the solitary life. she loved the silences, she was a modest woman…she didn’t talk much. It wasn’t in her nature. Back at the rez people spoke slowly, actually thinking about what they would say…if she went back they would marvel or be disgusted at how fast she talked, having picked it up in the city. So Kirsten stood a few feet away, Dina hadn’t noticed her yet, but soon enough she did..
