Dana pressed play and the slow, calming music came out of the speakers. It wasn’t loud, but loud enough to startle Alice slightly, who was watching Dana the whole time. Dana walked over to Alice and held her hands out. Alice took Danas hands and pulled herself up the best she could without her crutches. Dana led her to the ‘dance floor’ in the middle of the room and wrapped her arms around Alice’s waist. Alice wrapped her arms around Danas neck and pulled her close, resting her head on Danas shoulder, her face pressed into her neck. They began to sway softly to the music, when Dana began singing softly in Alice’s ear.

To get you through the day and make everything okay’’

Dana’s voice was sending shivers down Alice’s spine, and Dana knew the effect she was having on her girlfriend. They danced for the rest of the song, and waited for the next one to come on. They spent around 20 minutes just dancing away to the music Kit had chosen for them. Alice needed to sit back down, as her legs were refusing to hold her up any longer. They sat back down at their table, keeping eye contact and holding hands the whole time.

Dana: Are you ready to go home?

Alice: I think so. I’m tired from all that dancing.

Dana: Yeah, me too. I’ll call Tom, and then we can go, okay?

Alice nodded and Dana called Tom, who said he would be a few minutes. When he arrived, Alice and Dana thanked him and left. While they were in the car, Alice remembered that she said she wanted to move back into her own apartment. But now, she was realising that she didn’t want to. Not if it meant Dana wouldn’t be there, with her. She decided to tell Dana when they got home, as Dana was concentrating on driving, and rubbing her thumb against Alice’s hand. Alice looked down at their hands and smiled, loving the way they fit perfectly together. When they got home, they sat down on the couch and Dana made them some tea. She brought the cups into the living room and placed them on the coffee table, before taking a seat next to Alice. Alice had turned the TV on and was watching NCIS, until Dana sat beside her. She turned her attention to Dana and took her hands into her own. Dana locked eyes with Alice and they smiled at each other.
