The Suitcase
“Thanks, Liz. Have you been waiting long?”
“Nope. Just got here about five minutes ago.”
Tina noticed one of her own suitcases. She motioned towards it.
“You left Vancouver with a carry on. I thought you might need some more clothes,” Liz shrugged.
“What would I do without you, Liz?”
“I have no fucking idea.”
They both laughed and hugged again.
“Okay. We both need new assistants. You said you had some ideas. Who are you considering?”
“Sean.”
“Sean? The PA you like to torment?”
“Torment is a strong word.”
Tina gave her a look.
“Accurate but strong.”
“Do you think he can handle the job?”
“I do. That’s why I was always giving him a hard time to see if he’d crack. He never did.”
“Okay. It’s your choice. If that’s who you want, offer him the job.”
“Now, for you.”
“Who am I going to get to replace you, Liz?”
“Well, first of all, no one can replace me. But I have lined up a few candidates for you to consider.”
Liz gave Tina a file folder with employee records and a couple of outside options. Tina looked through the file. She discarded a couple but still had five solid candidates.
“Thanks, Liz. You are amazing.”
“I really am.”
Tina rolled her eyes and blinked at Liz because she didn’t know how to wink.
“How have the last few days been?”
“Fucking emotional. I’ve been on a fucking emotional rollercoaster.”
“I bet.”
“Oh! Guess what?”
“What,” Liz said a little too eagerly.
“I moved back into our house.”
“Shut. The. Fuck. Up. How did that happen?”
“Bette came over for dinner and at the end of the night she basically told me that she couldn’t stand the thought of me being in LA and not in our house.”
“That’s huge.”
“It really is.”
“When did you move back in?”
“Yesterday.”
“That’s crazy. How’s Bette?”
“She’s still guarded but she’s glad to have me in the house. I can tell. And I’m glad to be back in the house.”
“I don’t even know what to say right now,” Liz said.
“It’s been a lot. Anyways, how long are you in town?”
“A week or so.”
“Oh good. You’ll have to come over for Family Sunday.”

What a great chapter and I’m glad that the fact Jennifer was in Texas inspired you to update your story.
Slow steps but I’m sure that Bette will find the trust that Tina is not going to leave her.
Thank you so much. JB was lovely and I am so grateful I was able to meet her.
Slow steps for sure. But I think they are on their way. Therapy should be interesting.
Thanks for the update. I could feel the panic in Bette when she saw the suitcase. Very understandable. And it’s good that Tina realized that Bette needed the truth and some reassurance that the situation was nothing to be scared about. But triggers like this will happen from time to time…
I really want Bette to begin to trust Tina again. But these things take time. So take the time Bette. Take the time to get to know Tina again. And I mean to really know her. And for god’s sake trust yourself. Trust what you see in Tina and her responses. No one cooks you a dinner when they are about to walk out the door.
Looking forward to this journey. Thankyou.
Yes! It’s definitely about trust. Tina needs to be patient and Bette needs to open up to Tina. It is going to be a journey. Therapy is going to brutal! Thanks so much for reading.
OMG! The tension is so powerful! I know it will take some time for Bette to trust Tina again but must it be be so painful? Please don’t charge Tina! It was so good to see the pictures of them together so I feel their inspiration in your story. Keep the flow coming. They will make it back and it’s going to be epic. Epic I tell you!
It gets more painful. But I am hopeful. The next chapter is up.
You have no idea how interesting this story is. I have read it so many times. I can’t wait for the next chapter. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much. Your wait is over. The next chapter is up.
Loved it!
Can’t wait for more!

Thanks so much!!! The next chapter is up.
