The Performance of a Lifetime – Chapter 4

“Jennifer. I tutored her on maths. She tutored me on other things.” Bette said chuckling wickedly.

“Were you a good student?” Tina asked innocently.

Bette shot Tina an indecipherable look and Tina elaborated on her question.

“I’m just practising for later. We are supposed to be lovers, after all.”

Bette took a deep breath and then said.

    “Ask me again.”

“Were you a good student?” Tina asked in her best flirting voice.

“Come into my room later and I’ll show you.” Bette replied throatily and winked at the blonde, all of her oozing with promise.

Tina felt her temperature rising. She downed the rest of her water.

“Not bad. Not bad at all. I’d hire you for my movie.”

Bette grinned and shook her head smugly.

“So, Miss Kennard who was the first girl you ever kissed?”

“That would be Emily.” Tina stopped and Bette arched her eyebrow. “Summer camp when I was seventeen.”

    “Ah, good old summer camp.”

    “Yes.” Tina chuckled.

“What was your longest relationship?” The blonde felt the drop in the mood and she could almost kick herself for just reading the next question without thinking.

    “Jodi.” Bette’s answer was curt.

“Mine was with Jess.” The brunette shot her a confused look and Tina explained. “Jessica. She was my college sweetheart. We dated for four years. Then I wanted to stay in New York and work in the movies’ business and Jess wanted to travel the world and be a nature photographer. Neither one of us wanted a long distance relationship so we broke up. We still e-mail each other sometimes. Last time I heard from her she was somewhere in Argentina.” Tina wanted to erase the mention of Jodi’s name from the conversation.

“And since then?” Bette asked with interest.

“Since then I’ve had a few not so serious relationships.” Tina replied with a shrug of her shoulders. “I work long hours.”

Just then the GPS chimed in with its disembodied voice.

Next exit take a left turn.

Tina looked at the map and stated. “We’re getting close.”

Bette nodded and they drove in silence for the next ten minutes, both of them lost in thought.

They reached a tall gate and stopped the car. Bette opened her window and pushed the bell.

    1. This story is adorable. I love how intuitive Tina is regarding Bette’s feelings..and how she reacts to things to make Bette feel more at ease. Hope they do some of that flirting they tried in the car in front of their crowd. PPS.

    2. Love the story and so happy that you have a hyperactive imagination and that you love “our girls.” Hopefully when the girls get on the dance floor those special feelings will surface and give them goosebumps. Then the game is on and they will find that they really do like each other. This is gonna be so much fun. PPS

    3. Oh! PPS! I am so intrigued to find out what types of events are going to comprise a four-day wedding. So many opportunities for flirting! Can they reflect back on what happened after the dance on their introductory date? I am dying to know what happened – how did the date end? I am assuming well because they are now at the wedding. Please more SOON! Like this evening or tomorrow soon!

    4. Leave it to Alice to say something to make everyone uncomfortable!! I’m loving the story. Tina jumped right into character. How far will she go to ‘relax’ Bette?

    5. Alice is a riot, but it seems she has caught on to the effect that Bette and Tina have on one another. I can’t wait to watch Bette and Tina fall for each other and the side bonus of Jodi having to face your idiocy is just icing on the cake. Your story ROCKS!

    6. Let me join the bandwagon and say i am loving this story too!I am really liking the unobtrusive way that Tina is supporting and connecting with Bette. Can’t wait for more. Thanks for sharing.

    7. That alice her mouth over loads her all the time. I believe thay Jodie and janet will put Tina and Bette in the same room just to be shitty. they know that they are not together post soon. thanks

    8. What a story Sabina, you are brilliant and this chapter was simply beautiful you have done a great job writing it, I’m so excited for the whole event, imagine the possibilities and what could happen between between these two, I hope they get to know each other better and recognize the attraction and ignore the wedding and make an intense love instead. Thank you so much & have a great day.
