    When Helena met Daniel

    THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD – Chapter 40

    Bette had been for a slow and uncomfortable walk down the corridor to look at the other new babies with Daniel in her arms. They were all beautiful and she had chatted to a lot of new parents who were all as thrilled as she was. All the parents had admired Danny – saying how he looked like her.

     

     

     

    But for her none of them could match the gorgeousness that was Daniel Christopher.

     

     

     

    He had woken up twice in the night and she was tired – she was looking forward to coming home tomorrow. At least that way she could sleep beside Tina and they would share the responsibilities of caring for him and they could hold each other as they slept.

     

    “Hey there “

     

    Bette arrived back at her room and greeted Helena who was coming down the corridor

     

     

     

    “Bette – well I have been given a two hour pass to see you and your son “

     

     

     

    Bette laughed – she knew that Tina was going to be very protective of them. She knew that Alice had not liked how the day before Tina had announced that their two hour visit was up and that Danny and Bette needed to sleep.

     

     

     

     

    “Come in and say hello to this young man – you’ve heard what we are calling him ? “


     

     

    “Yes – Shane rang me – I think it’s a lovely combination of names – how are you both ? “

     

    “Fine “

     

     

    “You look sore “

     

     

     

    “I am – its going to be a while before I can run anywhere “

     

     

    “And by the time you can you won’t have the energy “

     

     

    “ Exactly “

     

     

    Helena eased the blanket out of the way and stared at the sleeping baby who looked so totally at peace with himself and his world

     

     

     

    “He is pretty handsome given how he came into the world “

     

     

     

     

    “He shows no signs of being bothered by being delivered by a room full of lesbians “

    2. Holy shit Three in diaper at the same time. They Can feed all three at one time and still have a spare . Twins girls. That is great. Maybe Bette will sell her gallerys in London and come back home in a year. Tina babies will have due citizen ship. thanks so much for posting

    6. LMFAO!!!! No fucking way… TWINS!!! Ally, you’re just too much!! Just when you think that the Kennard-Porter family is finally settling down for some much needed uneventful time, there comes Ally with yet another big bomb!!!! Gosh, within a few weeks, they both go from being lonely and miserable to turning into a loving family of five!!! A very winding road INDEED!!!

    7. Are they identical? That always adds an element of weirdness to the happy occassion. Man, 3 babies in diapers in one house. With that many, it won’t matter what side of the Atlantic they’ll settle on. We’re ALL going to be able to smell that diaper pail. Yeah, bring Alice to England, they’ll need another pair of hands. Oh, the joy of it all!

    9. AllyE, that was a wonderful chapter. I like this Helena very much, she has turned out to be quite a friend to them. And twin girls, oh my what a happy and noisy household that will be with three babies at once, all in diapers, all needing baby food, night feedings middle of the night changes and on, and on, and on. This is gonna be a lot of fun to read and I know you will have a lot of fun writing it. They must take Alice to England with them and they must hire a nanny. Even with the three of them those are not enough hands to take care of three infants. This is gonna be so much fun, can hardly wait. It will be an experience to behold.

    10. Well my friend I must admit my first reaction when I read the last two words of this chapter were—Holy Shit. Babe you are just something else do you know that and as soon as I figure out what that is I’ll let you know. LOL Seriously though—this is a wonderful chapter. You really pulled out all the stops on this one. You are the only author on this site that can make me feel so many different emotions in the same chapter. In case you don’t get what I am trying to say here babe—I am saying the you are the best author on this site bar none.
