THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD – CHAPTER 25
“I love you and the thought that I might lose you – -it fucking terrifies the hell out of me. Don’t “ Bette struggled with tears

Tina covered the few metres that separated them and burst into tears in Bette’s arms. Bette pulled her closer and held her wife as they both sobbed.

Later that afternoon Tina was sitting by the pool reading a script that had been submitted to them for consideration. She had read the same page about seven times – in the end she put the script back into her briefcase and lay back on the lounger and considered the events of the morning.
Bette’s out burst had been a one off . She had sworn at Tina and then held her while they had both cried. They had driven home and Bette had gone for a sleep. They had hardly spoken since – Tina was grateful for that.
She needed to come to terms with everything – being pregnant as well as the still present danger of her having some type of infection that might have damaged her baby and even Bette.
She knew the statistics – she knew that women to women contact was unlikely. Bette had been on the internet and quoted numerous sets of figures to try and reassure her. But Tina lived with the fear of putting four lives at risk because of her stupidity. And it had be stupidity – had she really been so intent on becoming pregnant regardless of any other consideration.
“Hey there “
Bette was standing carrying two glasses of fruit juice. She was only wearing a man’s shirt that reached her thighs – Tina guessed that she was naked underneath. Tina smiled at the sight – at the very sexy sight in front of her.
“How did you sleep ? “
“Not much – been thinking. “
Tina nodded.
“Can we sit inside — its too hot out here for me ? “
“Sure “
Tina collected her paperwork and followed Bette back into the house. Bette sat on the sofa and looked with a fond smile at her blonde partner. Tina sat beside Bette and was glad that Bette took hold of her hand

AllyE,this story is just wonderful. Thanks for letting them get all the angst out and not get angry enough to leave like they have done in the past. So happy they are talking things thru and being able to voice their opinions. Bette has really matured in this story, thanks for that and Tina is not being the little butt she has been by wanting everything her way. They are truly acting like mature adults now and that is great. Please let Tina dodge all the STD bullets and be free and clear of any disease. They deserve a good break so that they can have their lives on track together and have a happy family. Thanks again for a wonderful story.
Hey Ally! I truly enjoy both of your stories so much. I agree with your opening comments. True love can overcome anything. I’m happy to see Bette and Tina talking so openly about their situation and how to handle things going forward. They deserve to be happy and hopefully they can get past this bump in the road in a positive way. Thanks for bringing such realism to your story. It brings out great dialogue and thought.
What? Those big-ass L-towns, London and Los Angeles don’t know about protection? Let me introduce Bette and Tina to the wonderful world of latex (or nitrile if you’re allergic). Dental dams, gloves, finger cots, hell, go to the kitchen and get some cling-wrap if you have to. All these things and hours of sexy fun can be yours until Tina’s health gets the all clear and resume their MONOGAMOUS relationship. Tina’s health will get the all clear, won’t it Ally? (You will forgive me if I keep using your comments box for public service announcements, won’t you?)

Ally, you are one open and honest woman to have said what you did in your authors notes. I still wish with all my heart that Tina WASN’T pregnant. It never fails in practically every story I’ve read that Tina is ALWAYS the one pregnant and when it finally happens for Bette, her comes Tina once again. I’ve been trying to hang in there because I do enjoy your writing Ally, but I have to be honest; the moment Tina announced that she too was with child, I became completely bored with this story.

Well done Ally. I love all of your stories and you write with abandonment. I appreciate your openness in your life and in your stories. This story has always had a pull on me because it does show true love and how you can love someone even though they do some stupid or crazy things. Bette will always love Tina and of cours Tina will always love Bette. I do have a couple of request to make if that is okay. Please have Tina clean and clear of all diseases and that the baby is definitely not Hen butts. I just love B&T stories.

Your stories are wonderful and you are personally courageous. These fanfic sites and MBs offer anonymity and that is definitely some of the allure, But to reveal a hidden part of your life takes courage and confidence b/c it is what one does when no one would know that takes courage. I, too, believe that love can conquer all and it is the only thing in the overall scheme of things that truly matters. You never hear anyone that is ill or dying saying that they wish they had worked harder or spent more time at work. It is always they wished that had spent more time w/someone they love or told people that they love them. OK, enough of this maudlin sop.
I’m with funnyone. I was sitting here thinking, “Do they not realize they can use protection?” Although I can understand them not going that route as it can be looked at as a means of demoting their relationship. They went for years having unprotected sex with each other and doing it now would be weird.

Ally, I too believe in the power of true love. I can’t figure out why everyone is so pissed at Tina. She wasn’t with Bette when she cheated and maybe at that point her life was so miserable she didn’t care enough to take care of herself. She probably should have told Bette before they slept together, but so should have Bette, I’m sure she wasn’t a saint while she was in England. STDS can go both ways. Anyway, you are doing a fabulous job–don’t let us readers bully you into changing your story EXCEPT more sex please :)
