The Language Of Love Ch 5: Long Lost Love
"I think you reached your limit there Porter" Alice removed the shot glass from Bette’s grasp and slid it down to another patron.
"Dean Porter" Kevyn said questioning her own sight, an upstanding member of the CU art faculty…drunk. She looked over at Alice for some sort of explanation as to why ‘Dean Porter’ was falling down drunk before her eyes.
"You know Bette" Alice asked.
"Yeah I’m in a graduate program at CU" Kevyn answered as she watched Bette slouch over and fall head first onto the bar.
"Okay Mama B" Alice giggled at the sight, she was going to enjoy telling Bette about this in the morning,"time to go". She drapped one of Bette’s arm over her own shoulder for support but Alice couldn’t balance all of Bette’s dead weight on her own.
"Let me help you" Kevyn said offering her assistance, she grabbed a hold of Bette’s waist, hoisting her from her seat.
Papi spotted Carmen from afar as she glided through the crowd of people separating her from her lady love. She stood for a moment and just stared at Carmen, wondering if this was indeed the right thing to do. Papi watched as Carmen moved sexily to the beat of the music playing…then she saw something, a dark haired woman standing next to Carmen.
"Hey…oh my god" Jenny sounded out of breath and panicked,"look…I have to go". Jenny looked at her cellphone,"family troubles" she whispered.
"No I totally understand" Papi smiled and placed her hand lightly over Jenny’s,"I’m sure I’ll see you around". With that Jenny was gone as fast as she had come and it allowed Papi more time to watch Carmen from afar…plotting her entrance back into the woman’s life.
"How dare Bette accuse me of loving my job more than Angelica" Tina flopped down on the couch beside Helena, she had just finished tucking the baby in for bed. Helena didn’t say much she just sighed and nodded her head apologetically.
"I think our meeting went very well though on a positive note" Helena said changing the subject quickly, the last thing she wanted to was come in between Bette and Tina’s relationship again.
"Yeah I’m so excited about working with Kate Arden" Tina began to go off on a rant about how great Kate was,"did you her film it was…". Tina paused in an attempt to think of the right word to describe the film.

A bow, huh? Is it cool if I fall over in the middle of it? I’m not good with balance. Anyway, the corn comment almost made me hurl along with Bette…not that it’s a bad thing, I’ve just got the flu and feel icky. But don’t mind my rambling, the story is good!
Nice twist having Papi be the one to run out on Carmen. I must admit the last sentence bothers me…it means Carmen still has feelings for Papi. Bette throwing up on Kevyn’s shoes was very funny. PPS!
Papi and Carmen? Oh no…please don’t do this. They don’t fit together.
