Chapter 25
3 pm. Day 32. Paradise Apartments. San Francisco.
“James, I need you to deal with this Stefan Harris issue, smooth it over, send him a case of wine, schedule a meeting for me for next week, anytime next week, just figure it out. His PA is inept and we are losing time before the -” Bette had been pacing around the living room talking on her headset but stopped short when the door to the apartment opened and her girlfriend walked in.
“Just deal with it James. Call me when it’s sorted out.” She ended the call and threw the phone and headset onto the lounge as she went to greet Tina.
“Everything ok babe? What are you doing home so early?”
“Well I’m finished with my work.” Tina grinned.
“Finished? For the day…?”
“Nope. Finished. Forever.”
“But… but… it’s Wednesday… there’s still 3 more days… what…?” Bette sputtered
“Sorry, you want me to go back to the studio?” Tina laughed.
“No. I just… wow! Tee that’s fantastic! Ok… so what’s the plan?” Bette asked tentatively.
“I don’t know, I figured we should talk about it. We can head back this afternoon, or leave on Sunday morning as planned… or anything in between really… I don’t start in LA until Monday so I don’t mind too much what we decide; but I thought you might need to get back to CU… you’ve been a little stressed yourself this week.” Tina led Bette to the couch as she spoke.
“I’m sorry babe; I’ve never been away for this long before, I just felt like things were starting to slip out of my control.”
“I know it’s been frustrating for you, thank you so much for sacrificing that for me. It really means more to me than you will ever know.” Tina leaned forward to place a soft kiss on her girlfriend’s lips.
“It was for my sanity too, I hate being away from you.” Bette drew Tina to her, holding her close and stroking her hair. Part of her stress this week was a result of anxiety that arose from their departure date looming with neither of them discussing what was going to happen when they got to LA.
“We don’t really have much packing to do; we could probably get a flight out in a few hours if you wanted to get back? I can call the airlines now.” Tina offered. Bette remained silent, her hands absentmindedly running through the soft blonde tresses of her love.

Wow, their journey has traveled down one road but now has begun to travel down on a different road. Their first night together in their new home was breath taking.

OMG! If there isn’t a sequel to this story I am seriously going to be balling my eyes out all night! I can’t believe the journey has come to an end. The finale love scene just left me aching for more – rather like our favorite couple in the story. There are so many interesting stories to tell with Tina’s new position in LA, the family adjusting to Tina, Alice and Tina working through their awkwardness over Bette. Hope you don’t wait to long to post again!
