    More processing. Bette and Tina talk. Bette and Alice talk.

    “I… I better go”

    “Yeah”

    Neither moved, both catching their breath as they stood grinning at each other.

    “Call me tonight? If you can?”

    “I’ll try, but don’t be mad if it ends up being tomorrow ok”

    “Ok”

    “I don’t know what I am going to do with myself without you here!”

    Tina placed a quick kiss on Bette’s lips in response before pulling away from the embrace.

    “I’m going to miss you too. I’ll see you soon.” She picked up her bags and received one more kiss from Bette before turning around and walking into the terminal.

    7pm. Day 5. Bette’s House. West Hollywood.

    Bette smiled at the memory but forced herself back to think about the issues at hand. It was 7pm, but knowing Alice, she would not get here until 7:30. Bette reached for the bottle of Merlot and poured herself a second glass. Mentally reminding herself not to have more than that before Alice arrive. She wanted to be sober when she spoke to her.

    A knock on the door startled her out of her reverie. Of all the days for Alice to be on time. She put down her glass of wine and went to open the front door.

    Alice had put in some extra effort tonight. When they ate in, she usually just came over after work and they would lounge in front of the TV or the pool. But tonight Alice had gone home to shower and blow dry her hair, change into a low cut dress and put on some make up before coming over. Bette took in the beautiful sight and felt her heart break once more.

    “Hey Alice, you look gorgeous!”

    “Thanks babe, thought you would like it” Alice leaned in for a kiss. Not missing the fact that, once more, Bette was referring to her by name and not by terms of endearments they often used with each other. She’d been doing that for a few days now. It was one of many things that were making Alice nervous.

    “You’re also early” Bette teased, raising her eye brow

    “You said 7!”

    “Yes, so I expected you at 7:30.”

    Alice swiped at Bette’s arm, feeling more comfortable with the banter.

    “I didn’t order yet – any cravings?”

    1. This story is just a great read. Hard to tell that your a “virgin” at this fanfic writing. I absolutely loved all the posted chapters. So many of them at one time. Such happiness!!

    2. Bette is trying to do the right thing. If Alice will remember she maded the first move on Bette. Its not like the have been going to together for yrs.

I love how you have shared your thoughts on the connection between Alice and Bette and Tina’s arrival on the scene. Please continue….

    4. Whoa, it is tough and Bette and Alice both are hurting despite Bette being the dumper. It was sweet of her to call Dana to go be with Alice. Wonderful story.

    5. Right, this is awesome. This is your fan fic debut and you’ve given us such a great read… I just love it, you’re in my favorite authors already. My only disappointment is that the “Next Post by This Author” button doesn’t work yet, as it has the previous 10 times! ;) Great job, and I can’t wait for the next post.

    6. Read ch1 and then 2 and then cheated by going right into this chapter so gotta read backwards some on this one. Sorry Al got hurt. I’m right into what happens next so plz post soon.

    10. I sure hope you continue on this one very soon…I loved that I could just keep reading. I glad B & T didn’t do anything beyond a kiss. I think there will be some more drama..maybe with Tina and Sam, maybe not a clean break there. Hoping that maybe Dana and Alice will become more than friends. pps

    12. This is a fantastic fic! Thank you for posting it. I’m excited to see what Tina and Sam’s break up will be like as well as Bette going out there. And of course Al finding out. I’m also glad bette called Dana for Al, that shows she cares a great deal for Al. I always hated the way they (the show) referred to Bette and Alice’s realtionship, like Bette didn’t give a rat’s ass to Alice. Thanks. Can’t wait for more!
