    Chapter 11

    6:45pm. Day 5. Bette’s House. West Hollywood.

    Bette had opened a bottle of wine and was sitting by the pool with a glass, preparing for one of the most difficult conversations of her life.

    Her mind floated back to the car trip with Tina.

    Earlier on Day 5. Somewhere in West Hollywood.

    Both women had been silent at first, processing the last few minutes with Alice.

    "She’s going to hate us" Tina’s voice broke as spoke.

    Bette nodded, staring straight ahead at the road.

    "Bette? We’re doing the right thing right?"

    "Tee… I told you before, I can’t tell you what to do, or what is right for you. I know what I want or need to do. I now that Alice and I just don’t fit. You need to decide if you and Sam fit or…"

    "Or if you and I fit?"

    "Yeah"

    "You think we fit?"

    Bette couldn’t help but grin. Certainty filled her heart and voice as she spoke.

    "I feel like you are my other half. It’s like I’ve always known you, like you’re almost a part of me. I think we fit"

    She turned to smile at the blonde. Tina picked up Bette’s hand, placed a soft kiss on the caramel skin and held it in her lap as she looked out the window. Bette remained silent. Not wanting to further influence Tina. Wanting her to come to her own decisions and conclusions.

    “I think I am just feeling guilty. Sam and I have been together for a year. And she was doing really well at work and she gave it all up without even really thinking about it, just so I could have my dream and we could still be together.”

    Bette said nothing, gently squeezing Tina’s hand to let her know she was listening.

    “But then I realise that if that’s the only reason I can think of to stay with her… because of how much she loves me, then I have my answer. And I look at you and…”

    Tina dropped Bette’s hand into her lap and reached out for the brunette’s face, she stroked her cheek, down to her jaw and lightly brushed her thumb over Bette’s lips. Bette was trying hard to concentrate on driving but couldn’t help but kiss the thumb placed so enticingly in front of her. Both women laughed.

    1. This story is just a great read. Hard to tell that your a “virgin” at this fanfic writing. I absolutely loved all the posted chapters. So many of them at one time. Such happiness!!

    2. Bette is trying to do the right thing. If Alice will remember she maded the first move on Bette. Its not like the have been going to together for yrs.

    4. Whoa, it is tough and Bette and Alice both are hurting despite Bette being the dumper. It was sweet of her to call Dana to go be with Alice. Wonderful story.

    5. Right, this is awesome. This is your fan fic debut and you’ve given us such a great read… I just love it, you’re in my favorite authors already. My only disappointment is that the “Next Post by This Author” button doesn’t work yet, as it has the previous 10 times! ;) Great job, and I can’t wait for the next post.

    10. I sure hope you continue on this one very soon…I loved that I could just keep reading. I glad B & T didn’t do anything beyond a kiss. I think there will be some more drama..maybe with Tina and Sam, maybe not a clean break there. Hoping that maybe Dana and Alice will become more than friends. pps

    12. This is a fantastic fic! Thank you for posting it. I’m excited to see what Tina and Sam’s break up will be like as well as Bette going out there. And of course Al finding out. I’m also glad bette called Dana for Al, that shows she cares a great deal for Al. I always hated the way they (the show) referred to Bette and Alice’s realtionship, like Bette didn’t give a rat’s ass to Alice. Thanks. Can’t wait for more!
