    The Island – Chapter 29

“Thanks, Steve.  I’ll come up later to say ‘hi’ to Bill and Jeff.”  Steve nodded and smiled back.  He had been a private pilot for many years and had to shuttle a lot of jerks.  He felt himself very lucky to get this job with someone so genuinely nice.

Dana wasn’t quite sure what to do after Steve left.  This wasn’t like any flight she had ever been on.  Alice again sensed the problem.  “Let me show you around, Dane.”  She took Dana’s hand and showed her the amenities in the compartment and then went to the doors.  “The bathroom is in here.”  She pointed.  “And there is a bedroom in here.”  Alice pointed again.

Dana figured there was some sort of fold-out futon in there until Alice opened it to reveal a queen-sized bed.  There were also end tables, lamps, and a couple chairs.  At Dana’s surprised stare, Alice felt a little embarrassed.  “I sometimes have really long flights and I don’t always have time for a nap before meetings start…”

“I think it’s great.”  Dana said sincerely.  “I’m glad you have something so comfortable.”

Alice gave a small smile.  “If I have to leave the island, it helps to have something comfortable.”  Dana moved into the bedroom to look around.  It was then that she noticed that all the furniture was bolted down.  It would be difficult to remember you were in a plane otherwise and not a hotel room.  Dana smiled back and they moved to the main room of the compartment again as a voice came over the speaker.

“This is the captain.  We will be taking off in about five minutes.  Please be seated with your seatbelt fastened.  This means you, Pieszecki.”  Alice blushed as the intercom clicked off.

“Stupid Jeff.  It was just the one time I forgot…”  She mumbled under her breath as she escorted Dana to one of the chairs.  Dana then noted they were also bolted down and had seatbelts.  The women strapped in and the flight was shortly underway.

The trip was uneventful.  Dana decided to take a nap after lunch.  Alice joined her in the bed after she had gone through the passenger compartment to say “hello” to Sam and the other guards and greeted the flight crew.  They all seemed very excited to be off the island and Alice thought that maybe she should do some more traveling.  She fell asleep holding Dana and thinking of the various sites they could see together.

    1. Hey you’re very welcome. I can’t believe I missed this! I read this before work today and I was in a foul mood beforehand and this cheered me right up :) I love how it’s something different and yet still has our girls. I also love how filthy stinkin’ rich Alice is hehe, I agree with Howie! :D Keep posting and we’ll all keep reading. x

    2. I loved the chapter. I am so proud of you Goose. I am glad to hear about your brother. My brother just pointed at me and said I knew it. This story is great. I love it it’s amazing. You rock my socks

    3. So you called a 24 hour delay, a slowdown in postings? Plz, you are one of the most consistent writer in the past months. Not to give you any pressure, seriously, I can always count on your weekly update and am most grateful. As for this chapter, A driving the golf cart was very funny. Excellent writing on the plane ride. OK, I have to get used to A being all presidential. lol. A queen size bed on the plane sounds heavenly. The guard detail was equally impressive. Very funny that the pilot told A to fasten her seatbelt. I could picture her and Shane goofing around on the plane when grandpa was still alive. It so true that when you are with someone who you truly love, it doesn’t matter where you are, the place turns magical. In this case, D for the first time appreciated the home town scenery. Excellent that Howie was immediately drawn to A. Very cute scene. Also that was an perfect execution of Sharon’s comment on D being gay. Thank you for letting A joined D on this trip. Love seeing all her support for D. Great chapter again. Thank you very much. Lastly, MaGoose, I am very proud of your personal achievement and hope that your brother will get to read your great stories some day.
