The Gathering – Finale – Like Me Now? – All Hail The King and His Many Queens

“Excellent.” He said, and he leaned back beginning from the beginning, that was always best, wasn’t it?

“Situs Inversus.” Darci proclaimed to the gathered crowd in the ER, they were silent and Shane blinked, not having a clue what Darci had just said. Darci’s scrubs were drenched in what she presumed to be, Sam’s blood. Was this another way of saying that Sam was dead? That they’d have to raise Jesse without her?

“The who NOW!” Alice yelled, and they all had to toss her a deadly glare, and she shrugged, she was at her wits end. It had been four hours, and no word. They’d been able to get Sam breathing again in the dessert, and then silence. It was slowly killing them all.

“Well.” Darci waved them to sit down, and they all did, only Shane stood, her shirt still bloody with Sam’s life blood. Jesse was curled up on Jayden’s lap, sucking on his thumb having just watched his mother getting shot by his grandfather. Shane was unsure how this was going to effect the young boy, but it was going to leave a scar.

“Sorry, it means that her heart is on the wrong side of her body, all her organs are on the wrong side. The bullet didn’t hit her heart like we thought, but it did collapse a lung, she’d in the ICU….” Darci was saying, and Shane put a hand up, stopping her.

“She’s alive…” Shane said, her body starting to shake, oh god, she wasn’t dead. She was alive. She wasn’t dead, how? Inversus smirtish, she didn’t care Sam was alive! There was a god up there and for once, she was looking out for them and not the other guy.

“Yeah, and talking, she wants to know if someone will go get her a cheeseburger, I don’t think it’s a good idea..” Darci said, motioning for Shane and the other to follow her, Jo and Amy stood outside the room, and Jo winked at Shane as if she’d known everything was going to be ok. Jo had an uncanny ability to just seemingly know things.

“Hey.” Jo said, and Shane hung back for a moment, letting everyone else filter by her, she wanted to desperately see Sam, but something in Jo’s eyes told her to wait. Jayden carried a still slumbering Jesse in her arms, stopping and giving Jo a kiss on her cheek.

    1. I have loved this story from the beginning until the end every twist and turn all the excitement, heartache, love, struggle, awareness, lust, all of it, and I know I have forgotten some points. Especially loved the connection with Angel & Buffy. I agree with Redfrpg this tory made it mightly difficult to do any work, but shit who cares I loved it all and would gladly do it again. It was that good. Thanks and looking forward to more.

    2. That was fucking EXCELLENT! When I first started this story I didn’t think I’d love it as much as the first, glad to see I was so very wrong. Sleepness nights be damned, it was worth it. Waiting anxiously to read more of your work.
