The Gathering 01.60 – The Gathering ReDux – Pt. 8

    *****

Tina drove quickly, feeling how her heart felt light suddenly.  The constant weight on her shoulders had been lifted and she felt live again.  Everything that she and Bette had been through, it was now all in the past.  It had to be, because they were still in love.  She’d seen love conquer death, cheat it, and she was sure as ***** not going to give up on Bette, not now or ever.

She pulled into an empty spot at the CAC parking garage and got out of the car.  She stopped, looking over and seeing Bette‘s vehicle.  Standing still for a long moment, her focus now on the old battered car parked to the left, it was Candace‘s car.

In that moment, the world turned dark again.  She got back into her car and drove away.  Tears springing to her eyes as she drove, she wiped them absently.  It was over, that had been the last straw, and she couldn’t take having her heart ripped from her chest again and again.

She grabbed her cell phone and pulled over; she fumbled, looking for the number.

“Sam Vance.”  Sam said, answering her cell.

“Are you still at my place?”  Came Tina‘s gargled question, she was distraught, and needed someone.  She needed Sam.

“I’m at my house, Alice came over and is sitting with Shane, are you ok?”  Asked Sam, true concern in her voice, god she was sweet.

“No.  I’ll be over to your place in a few, ok, please?”  Sam said sure and Tina drove away from her past and to her future.

    *****

Tired, beyond tired; she was bone weary.  She’d never felt this, even after her most grueling ***** fest.  Alice stretched her long athletic limbs, hearing the joints popping as she did.

She had gone to see Shane after what had happened at Bette‘s the evening before.

“Shane?”  Alice asked and Shane cracked her eyes open.

                “Yup?”

“Has the world gone mad?”  Shane nodded and closed her eyes again.

“I sure as ***** feel like I’m dreaming.”

    1. Ok then, I can live with Bette & Candace together, really I can. But I WILL NOT TOLERATE Sam and Tina!!! I’m sorry, I’m still just still in the whole Shane&Sam thing. I can’t believe Sam didn’t fall for Shane in the first place. But, I get it, what if, what if…*sighs*

    2. This is stinging, but realistic. Did I just say that? You know, I am not gonna get any sleep, if you keep going in this direction. See, I have to read your posts and then get my Tibette chaser. It’s your fault that I’m not gonna get any sleep. And I do have to work and finish school. You should feel really bad. Ok, it’s not funny and stop humming the Milli Vanilli classic, “Blame it on the Rain”.
