    Tina froze when she recognized Bette. What was she doing here of all places ? She just stood there, not sure how to react. To her relief, she saw Bette walking towards her. «Hi…», was all Bette said.

     

    «Hi… I’m surprised, no shocked might be a better word, to meet you here… I didn’t know you were in Paris», Tina said, her mouth dry.

    «I came in yesterday…», Bette told her.

     

    «It’s only been a few hours for me…». Tina’s heart was beating so fast that she was sure Bette could hear it.

    Bette smiled. «What brings you here or may I ask?»

     

    «I’m here on assignment actually… I’m covering Danielle Collins’ gallery opening tonight. And you ?»

    «Just visiting an old friend… This trip was kind of unexpected to tell you the truth», Bette admitted.

     

    «How’s the new exhibit coming along at your gallery ? James told me you had a few problems with it», Tina wondered.

     

    «I was able to sort them out and the exhibit will open as schedule next week», Bette simply explained, never apologizing for not rescheduling the lunch they were supposed to have back home.

     

     

    Would you… would you like to have coffee with me ? I know a charming little café not too far from here», Tina said, referring to the small restaurant they had gone to all those years ago.

     

    «It’s closed now… I just walked passed it», Bette told her. She looked at her watch. «I have an appointment I can’t miss…», she added.

    Tina felt like crying. All she wanted was to be alone with Bette for a while so they could talk. «All right, when are you leaving?»

     

    «Tomorrow afternoon… And you?»

    «Tomorrow night», Tina told her, wishing they could have been on the same flight. «Well, I have to go… Have a nice time in Paris», Bette replied, already walking away. Tina waved at her, unable to speak. Her hazel eyes brimmed with tears, mixing with the rain continuing to fall around her. «Bye Bette», she whispered, certain now that their relationship was over. She had made a terrible mistake and now she was paying the high price for it.

    1. Hey ML, Thank you for this wonderful addition to this brilliant drama. I hope that Bette is ready to listen to Tina and to try again. This pair are so much more than the sum of their parts. They are just complete when together. I can’t wait to see how this all plays out as I was worried that Danielle had captured Bette’s heart in the intervining time apart.     14. M this was so good to have them both meet in Paris w/o one or the other knowing bout it or maybe it was not a coincidence heh. ANyway I see that Danielle saw that they still have eyes for one another and lets hope that Danielle is right and they will work things out.
