    Jailhouse confessions!

    “Never mind that Olly. Listen, I need you to represent someone else too. Her name is Tina Kennard. She is here as well. Oliver we need to get out of here as soon as possible, her father is in the hospital dying and she needs to get there.”

     

    “Whoa Whoahold on Bette, why don’t you tell me what you’re there for first.”

     

    “You’re not gonna believe this.”

     

    “Try me.”

     

    “Domestic disturbance!”

     

    Bette waited patiently as Oliver finished laughing.

     

    “Are you done?”

     

    “Sorry, so sorry Bette. Listen, did you hurt her?”

     

    “Hurt her! I didn’t hurt anyone! Her stupid boyfriendx-boyfriend, nearly broke my ***** wrist. Oliver, they weren’t ready to arrest me until Eric told them we were lesbians. It’s discrimination! Goddamn rednecks.  You have to get me out of here!”

     

    “Are you sure Bette? Because if you are, we will definitely have a good case here. But first things first, let’s get you and your friend out. Give me an hour and you’ll be walking. Do I have permission to use your account?”

     

    “Full permission. Thank you Oliver.”

     

    “For youanything. Take care and I’ll see you soon.”

     

    Bette hung up the phone feeling confident that she and Tina would be out very soon. She was led by the female officer to the holding cell where Tina was sitting quietly in the corner. Tina lit up the moment she saw Bette. As soon as the door opened she immediately ran to Bette where she fell into Bette’s arms. The officer smiled at Bette and winked as she closed the door.

     

    “Behave you two!”

     

    “Thank you” Bette whispered back.

     

    Bette held Tina tightly. Tina buried her head into Bette’s long curls tucking her arms into her chest allowing Bette to completely envelope her in her embrace. Bette relished the moment with Tina and the opportunity to comfort her. It was time and she knew it. Besides, this would be a fun story to tell their friends for years to come. Bette Porter confessed her love for the first timein a jail cell.

     

    “Tina”

     

    “Yes Bette”

     

    “I love you.”

     

    Tina breathed a long deep sigh. “Oh Bette, I love you too baby. Are we crazy?”

     

    “Why do you say that T?”

     

    She kissed Bette softly on the cheek.

     

    “Because I loved you before I even met you. Do you believe that?”

     

    “Yes TI do.”

     

     

     

    Bette returned Tina’s kiss on the cheek with one deep passionate kiss on the lips. She pulled Tina into her and made a silent vow never to let go.
