“He must have been stupid to cheat on you—he didn’t deserve you.”

            “Thanks, babe.  Okay, what else do you have for me?”

            “Seven…how many times have you been in love?”

            “Twice.  Drew and then my ex-fiancé, Andy.  Andy asked me to marry him, and as a knee jerk reaction I said yes even though I knew I didn’t want to marry him.  I was in love with him, but he wasn’t the person I wanted to spend my life with.  I broke it off with him a week later.  It was a tough break-up.”

            “Wow, that must have taken some courage to end things.  I’m proud of you.  I might regret this but as your eighth question…how many lovers have you had?”

            “Seven and I was in relationships with all of them.  This isn’t a dig on you, but I couldn’t have sex with someone I didn’t have feelings for.”

            “I completely understand that and I have so much respect for you because of it.  Alright, eight…who is your best friend at the moment?”

            “Well, I have a lot of people I could consider my best friends, but the one person who has always been there is my mom.”

            Bette wasn’t expecting that answer and it stung a little hearing that Tina had such a great relationship with her mother, and Bette didn’t even know if her mother was alive or not.

            “Bette?”

            “Oh, sorry.  Um, nine…favorite placed to be kissed besides the obvious?”

            “That’s cheating, Porter.”      

            “You have to answer—that’s the rule.”

            “Fine.  When it’s a sensual moment I like to be kissed behind my earlobe, and in a tender moment, I like it on my palm.”

            “I’ll definitely burn that into my memory.  Ten…favorite flavor of ice cream.”

            “Cookies and cream.”

            “Nice choice.  Eleven…favorite color.”

            “Pink.”

            “Favorite food?”

            “Pasta.”

            “Order of music, movies and books?”

            “Movies, books, music.”

            “Fourteen…favorite place for my lips to be on you?”

            “Not fair…that’s too hard to answer.  I like them every where.”

            “Haha.  Fifteen…favorite sport?”

            “I love to run and watch and play basketball.”

            “Where you a nerd in high school or one of the ‘cool’ kids?”

            “Unique question…I’d say I was one of the ‘cool’ kids.  And no, I don’t only think that in my head.”

            “Seventeen…favorite season?”         

            “Fall—you get a little bit of hot and cold and it’s beautiful.”

            “Morning or night person?

            “Definitely morning.”

            “What is your dream wedding?”

            “A sweet, simple ceremony with my family and friends.  A classic wedding dress, my own vows and the traditional ones, and of course to love the person I’m going to marry completely.”

            After a few moments of silence, Bette broke the content silence.

            “Okay, my twentieth and final question…T, will you marry me?”
