    The Art of Chemistry (1)

Tina laughed and plopped herself down on one of the chairs. “Yeah, well, I was planning to have a girl’s night with Brenden, but he’s ditching me again for hot gay sex.”

“I wish I was having hot gay sex,” Dana smirked, sitting in a chair opposite to Tina, and dropping her head onto the table. “Instead I’m just burnt out.”

“Hey, I hear ya,” Tina smiled, massaging the sides of her head for a moment. “My head is just throbbing. Uhh …”

“Maybe you should see a doctor.”

Tina couldn’t help but laugh at the irony in that – being a doctor herself, and one of great esteem. “Oh I don’t know where I would find one at this hour. Do you happen to know of any?”

Dana was so tired she couldn’t even respond in the same joking manner. She just groaned a raspy “Yes.”

Just as Tina’s eyes were closing in her upright position, she felt two big hands on her shoulders, and chuckled. “Brenden-” But when she looked up, it wasn’t Brenden. “Oh … Henry …”

“The one and only,” he smirked, ever egotistical about his luck in life.

    “Henry … I’ve told you before … I’m a lesbian.”

Henry frowned, and Dana and Tasha both listened very carefully. While it may have seemed that they were utterly unconscious, somewhere in the recesses of their sleepiness, they were very attentive. They just had to hear this after Henry’s constant flirting with Tina. “Well … I mean one day, you might-”

“I’m a lesbian, Henry,” she continued, as it was time he understood her, loud and clear. “And it’s not going to change, no matter how much my back aches.”

Dana snorted her laughter, and Tina just shrugged when Henry gave her a look of frustration.

He looked to the other women in the room, and then back to Tina before walking out. Tina let out a deep breath and dropped her head back with her own frustration.

“Thank you!” Tasha sighed, “Finally. That was a long time coming.”

“It was hard to be so blunt,” Tina confessed, closing her eyes to the bright ceiling lights. “Why couldn’t he have understood the first five times?”

“Some men need to be told six, I guess,” Dana mumbled from her sleepy state.
