    Bette is asked to go skydiving.

    I got dressed for dinner while she read everything she could find on-line about the sport.

    “They say it’s an adventure of a lifetime,” she quoted as I sat on the side of the bed and slipped into my panty hose. In fact, with each garment of clothing I added, she seemed to have another remarkable fact to add about skydiving. “…there’s an average of only 35 skydiving fatalities per year in the USA…….you can reach speeds of 130 MPH in a drop…….the maximum weight is 225 pounds……no drugs or alcohol allowed. I guess when you’re that high naturally, you don‘t need it ……and there’s three options for a first jump. They are tandem, static line and accelerated freefall.”

    I was dressed and ready to go and she was still at it. I picked up the bags with the sex toys and told her I was going to go down to the lobby and see about sending them off. I told her I would then meet her up in the John Davenport Bar. After I said it, I was not sure she heard me so I said it again and she nodded affirmation.

    I had no problem with the toys. They put them all in one box without taking the things out of the bags, wrapped it and said it would go out tomorrow.

    I found a bistro table in the bar with two chairs and ordered an Absolute martini for both of us. I honestly did not have to wait very long when I saw her approach me with one of her fabulous smiles, looking beautiful in fine clothes with personality radiating like beams of light.

    She patted me on the arm a few times by way of greeting, and lifted herself up to the tall bar stool. Yes, I had been upset with her but now it seemed I had her all to myself again.

    “Sorry babe,” she said. “I got carried away. It’s a fascinating thing.”

    I put an index finger up to her mouth and left it there momentarily. She raised her eye brows at me while I shook my head and said, “Not another word.”

    When I took my finger away, she said, “Okay.”

    “Let’s talk about dinner and the play tonight.”

    2. Gummy Bear, I do believe that is exactly how Bette would have handled this because she was this way on TLW. We would be amused at how she was self-absorbed in her work and prattle on and on about it to Tina. We forgave her if that is what selfishness is, as I hope my readers will do. As for Sissee, she is just so friggin much in love with Bette that it becomes, “wither thou goest” kind of thing. I’d bet my money on Sissee going too. Smile.

    4. Nunya, It’s nice to hear from you. I guess you knew where to find me. I have been super busy, trying to get things ready for a long trip. Not too much time to just chat with friends. You can be sure I won’t lose track of you though, especially when I am on the road I will have more time to write in the evenings. Thanks for stopping by and hope to hear from you again.

    5. hey sissee! while i agree how selfish bette was, isn’t that just bette being bette and thats why i for one absolutely love this character and i totally agree with you sis that this is how she would be on the show…and as for your comment i’ve already forgiven her!! can’t wait to see how this plays out, pps!!

Mushy, I did a lot of research on this entire story from bull fighters to sex toys (somebody’s got to do it) but through it all, I really enjoyed this skydiving series because I know it is nothing I would ever personally do but I got a pretty good idea of what it’s like – and so will all of you.

    7. I’m kinda with Gummy Bear on this one. I don’t think Bette is considering Sissee’s feelings at all. She’s all self-absorbed, & I know that’s just how she is, but I hope she’ll stop for a minute & talk to Sis about this. Have a great weekend!

    8. Kbergin47, Well, it is what it is and I know this follows Bette’s patterns but trust me, it turns into an exciting adventure with a huge hitch.
