    Summer Vacation. Chapter 13

    Previously:

Bette laughed at herself, wondering if she’d have made it to the car before realising she ought to go change before picking Angie up,

    “What?” asked Tina,

“I’m still in my bathing suit …” muttered Bette, “I was about to take a swim when I came across that folder of Lottie’s from last night”

    “And …?”

Bette chuckled, hearing Tina’s switch into psychologist mode … “and I started to look through it …” she paused, “Tee … there’s some legal documents about Lottie’s trust fund, some paperwork about co-signatories on a charitable trust and a number of collections …” Bette added, sharing with Tina her own confusion over all that, “all from a legal office in Virginia …”

“Why do you think that’s in there?” asked Tina,

“I don’t know …” admitted Bette, “I guess it has something to do with my mother …”

Tina sighed … Lottie really needed to talk to Bette.

    Chapter Thirteen.

“Hello Roger” spoke Lottie formally, her good English education often coming out over the telephone. She paused, listening to Roger Bannister, her mothers family lawyer and long time family friend as he went through the same rudimentary pleasantries on the other end …

How strange it was that she’d barely known him a year and yet he controlled such a huge aspect of her life, for now at least …

“Yes, she knows … now …” Lottie said, “we spoke yesterday … so …” she asked, “what exactly is it that she has to agree to … before we can sign …?”

Roger began going through the details for her …

“Uh huh … uh huh … hmn” Lottie mumbled, writing down the instructions Roger gave her, “No … er … I wasn’t planning on telling her just yet …” she added, sharing the progress with Roger …

Roger continued to bore her with the rudiments of the legal process …

“I can’t ask her to do *that*” exclaimed Lottie, surprised, appealing to Roger … clearly it was met by firm but gentle persuasion from Roger’s side …

“Okay …” mumbled Lottie, “fine …” as she reached for her bag, fumbling to retrieve the folder with the phone still attached to one ear, “okay … if she … oh shit! … eugh,” groaned Lottie, realising the folder wasn’t in her bag anymore, “I guess I don’t have to worry about how I’m gonna tell her … I left all the documents for it in her house …”

    1. What does he need to talk to Bette. I’m guessing that is has to do with Lottie and Bette and her inheiring some thing from her Mother. If its picture her Mother Painted or just pictures of Bette when she was a baby with her Mother Just post soon. Waiting is hard thanks

    2. Wow, this is getting very interesting. So Bette’s and Lottie’s mom was an artist. I wonder what is in store for both Bette and Lottie in the things left them by their mother.

    3. Please further write fast. I can hardly wait as the conversation goes on between Bette and Lotti. Around whether Bette flies to the lawyer to Virginia. And what has to say to it. PPS

Tina should know Alice by now, so I’m a bit surprised she couldn’t fool her – it should have been Bette and Lottie telling Alice about this, but apart from that I really loves this story. So post more and very soon please :o))
