“Welcome to the family Bette, I know you and Tina will be very happy and I would love for you to be my daughter in law” Bette was surprised by the gesture made by her future mother in law she hoped.

The Planet, Los Angeles, Present Day, Tina’s POV

I walk into The Planet with a loud smile plastered on my face, I am so happy that I have the love of my life back and this time I wasn’t going to let her go. I spot the girls sitting at our usual table and I wave to them and they wave back.

“Hey you, where’s my baby sis?” I know I blush when Kit mentions Bette, I was still embarrassed by the encounter with my parents earlier that morning

“She’s shopping with my mom” Kit could tell something has happened between me and Bette and she knew it was a good thing

“Your mom?” I nod slowly and again I feel the heat rise to my cheeks

“Yeah she and my dad kinda walked in on me and Bette in bed this morning” I saw Kit put her hand over her mouth to stop herself laughing out loud “We’re all lucky that me and Bette weren’t you know” Kit was still trying to stifle her laughter in her hand

“Oh my god, that must have been really uncomfortable” I nod slowly and Kit shakes her head

“Oh yeah, they were kinda shocked when I told them who my partner was lying next to me” Just as Kit was about to answer I hear my mom’s unmistakable laughter. I turn to see Bette and my mom laughing at something, I’m surprised to say the least “Glad to see you two are getting along” Bette and Lois look at me

“Your mom’s great honey” Bette kisses me softly on the lips. I can feel the love in the kiss. She pulls away and smiles

“Aww someone give me some insulin because that was too sweet” we turn to Alice and laugh

“I’ll go and sit with your friends” we watch as my mom goes and sits with Alice and the others. We are amazed at how much as ease she was with our friends and how easily she slips into the group

“Hey baby sis, it’s good to see you and Tina together again” I wrap my arms around Bette and we look at Kit “You two bring other people hope” We blush before I feel Bette’s lips on my forehead

“Thanks Kit” All three of us smile before our bliss is interrupted by Alice

“Hey love birds are you going to join us any time today” We laugh, I unwrap my arms from around Bette and we walk over to the table hand in hand. We catch up on all the gossip, Bette talks about some of the pieces that she has brought over for the opening and I spot a reoccurring pattern; they were about a love between two women whose life choices separated them. Her and Bette were the subjects of the paintings and she knew it. What Bette must have gone through?
