“Yeah?” Shane asked.

            Nodding, Molly confidently replied, “Yeah.”

            Smiling, Shane looked deeply into Molly’s eyes and caressed her bare shoulder. “You know I think you are the most beautiful woman in the world, but if possible, I think you’d be even more beautiful pregnant.”

            Molly blushed as she smiled. “Thanks,” she replied sheepishly. After a few moments, she continued, “I’ve always thought I would adopt some day actually.”

            “Really?” Shane asked, surprised.

            “Yeah. There’re just so many children and babies that need homes, you know?” Molly replied, as she sat up a bit, leaning on her elbow. With her free hand, she laced her fingers through Shane’s. “I mean, I think about what you went through. Going from foster home to group home and back again. No child should have to do that.”
            Shane just smiled and pulled Molly to her. Wrapping her in her arms, she brushed the hair from her forehead and pressed a kiss to it. “I love you so much.”

            Smiling, Molly turned her face into Shane’s body and kissed her. “I love you, too,” she whispered.

            On her way home from school the following day, Shane couldn’t help but stop at the local adoption agency and pick up some information for her and Molly to peruse. Upon arriving back home, she eagerly set out the information on the kitchen table and began to prepare a nice romantic dinner for Molly, since Shay was spending the night at his friend’s house.

            As Shane was chopping the vegetables, she heard the door open and without picking her head up from what she was doing, called out to Molly. “Hey baby. In here.”

            Molly dropped her bag at the door and trudged into the kitchen. With a heavy sigh, she plopped into the chair and rested her forehead on the table. Wiping her hands on the towel that was carelessly thrown over her shoulder, Shane made her way over to Molly and laid her hands upon her shoulders. Bending down, she placed a kiss atop Molly’s head and began to run her shoulders. “Long day?” she asked tenderly.

            Molly nodded her head silently as she let herself be lost in Shane’s touch. With her face buried in the crook of her arm, she mumbled, “I just want a nice hot bubble bath.” She lifted her head up momentarily to ask, “Care to join me?”
