Seemingly Lost Chptr. 3
"Baby have you talked to Bette at all this morning?"
"I haven’t talked to her since last night. What the hell is wrong with her? I mean the thing here with Kim’s name and the thing at the restaurant. Leaving your date and claiming to have a bullshit migraine. And don’t think I didn’t notice the way she was just tuning out through out the whole date."
"I know baby, I know." Tina said rubbing Justine’s back trying to calm her down, for some reason she was more upset with Bette than she was. "I’m gonna try her studio phone again. I just wanna make sure she’s alright." Tina’s mind wouldn’t rest until she talked to Bette about the way she truly felt about Justine.
…………………………
"Alright sweetie that was a good one. Let’s call it a day for today. I’ll see you 11 o’clock sharp tomorrow, and we’ll finish the last track’s chorus." Bette spent all day in the studio polishing her latest discovery’s voice. While the rest of her crew left they had no idea that Bette was just staying in there to avoid the reality of the situation waiting for her at home.
It was around 2:30 in the morning when Bette felt the day’s air touch her skin again. Startled by the figure to her left she jumped a little, but soon her beating heart was calmed when saw that it was just Shane.
"What the hell are you doing here, besides scaring the hell outta me?"
"I was just gonna finish this cigarette, then I was gonna check on my friend." Shane said taking a final puff and discarding the cigarette. "She seemed to be in a bad place last time I saw her." Shane said looking at Bette with endearing eyes.
That in turn made Bette smile and turn away from Shane. It was just like Shane to do something like this. Pop up unexpectedly and try to bring some light to your dark times.
"How ya doing anyway?"
"I’m alright." Bette said breaking the gaze Shane had fixed on her eyes. Avoiding the question she knew Shane was bound to ask, Bette picked up her pace and began to ramble "I want you guys to listen to this new artist I found her name’s "The Truth" she’s phenomenal. Her voice is so strong and…"

Tina should know but if Bette is the one to tell her I hope she believes her.
I still don’t think Bette should be the one to tell Tina about Justine (paging Shane McCutcheon, Shane McCutcheon), but she SHOULD tell her about how she feels. And she definitely should stop acting all weird with Tina. Best of luck on the job front. Sounds like you should make your exit from the present one ASAP. Good luck with the car, too. Hang in there girl. I can’t explain it (fairy godmother?) but when things have been most dire for me, shit just worked out. Once over a month behind on the rent, found hundred dollar bills on the street. Lying in bed in a diabetic coma with an hour or two left, co-workers located my brother just as he was leaving to do the laundry. No really, no shit. So hang on.
I hope it is not Bette that tell’s Tina. Bette just needs to be there for Tina when she does find out. Great Update!!!! Thank you PPS
OK… I think this is where my comment is supposed to be… so here goes… My goodness this chapter is so touching! I could feel Bette’s pain, angst, love, lust, longing… *sigh* My poor Bette. Tina, open your eyes, sweetheart! You’re going to miss out on true love and your soulmate. I can understand that Bette is in a quite precarious situation with her cousin or whatever she is… but, the girl is a liar and a cheat. In my opinion, she doesn’t deserve loyalty. Obviously she doesn’t love Tina the way she should, IF she loves her at all. Looks to me as if she simply likes to have a trophy at home… all polished, pretty and waiting for her to come home… and a few trinkets to play with whenever the mood suits her. I find her character a bit disgusting. I hope Tina doesn’t marry her. I doubt what’s-her-name would even be hurt very much. Maybe her pride would suffer a blow or two, but certainly not her heart. And anyway, I wouldn’t give a rat’s @ss if she was hurt. She won’t get any sympathy from me. I love this stroy. The feelings I’m experiencing while reading this, are a tad intense, to say the least. You’re doing great with it. Keep it up, please. Hopefully, Tina and Bette will find each other despite the drama that I am sure will ensue. Please, post soon. This is like a good book that you simply hate to put down. Thanks!
bette cant b the one to tell tina longer can u work that in the story
wow, i thought nobody but bette knew but shane always knows…great chapter, i think bette should tell tina
Ditto Emae29’s comments. Wonderful story. Excellent writing. PPS!
Tina does need to know but it should come from someone else and not Bette. Maybe set a trap so that Tina catches Justine with another woman and that way Tina catchers her red handed.
I agree with funnyone…I have been there done that and it is so not pretty…the messenger always gets shot in the azz. I was waiting for Tina to walk into the diner while her and Shane were talking…lol. I am sorry you are going thru all that sh*t. Were do you work that your co-workers are dropping like flies? This is a crazy crazy world. I hope things start looking up for you real soon.
Yeah Im with funnyone and hope my poor Bette not sad anymore. Ok post soon please, thanks!
Ouch…Please post again soon!
Hey girl I’ve just caught up and love this story. I like how Bette is so thought driven. I’m all crossed up for you and believe it will work. Good luck.
Nice chapter! Post soon…
