    No Me Ames; #01

I took a sip of my coffee, savouring the liquid’s bitter-sweet flavour.

Mornings were my favourite time of the day. I loved the peace, serenity and the feeling of new hope the morning sun brought. Taking a look at the clock which hung in the kitchen, I realized that it was time.

Pouring another cup of coffee, I walked towards our bedroom quietly, careful not to spill the hot drink. Gently pushing open the door of our bedroom, I made my way to the side of the bed where a body laid, lost deep in sweet slumber. I smiled to myself as I set the cup down and knelt beside my wife.

Her almond-shaped eyes were closed as she breathed with her rosebud lips slightly parted. My eyes traced the bridge of her nose as I smiled to myself, admiring the beauty that seemed to emanate from within her despite her unknowing.

    She was so breathtakingly beautiful.

“Baby,” I whispered, kissing her forehead gently and stroking her long curly brown mane that lay tousled carelessly on the pillow, “It’s time to wake up, sweetheart. Bette?”

She stirred ever so slightly, a small smile spreading over her lips as she struggled to open her eyes.

I leaned forward and kissed her lips, “Time to get up for work, my love.”

“Is it time to get up already?” she asked as she yawned, stretching. She reached out and wrapped her arms around my neck, pulling me into bed with her.

“Bette,” I laughed as I snuggled close to her, “You’re going to be late.”

She closed her eyes again, smiling contently to herself, “Just a few minutes, babe, ok?”

I closed my eyes; the scent of her skin was intoxicating, “Ok, baby,” I replied, “Just a few minutes.”

    ◊◊◊

“So I’ll see you home for dinner?” I asked Bette as I watched her walk over to her black Mini Cooper, juggling her bag, laptop case and keys.

“Yea, I think I’ll be back at about seven? I hope my meeting later doesn’t run too late,” she replied.

“Anything special you want for dinner? I guess I’ll pick something up on the way home, or I could whip up some fried rice? There’s still veggies and chicken breast in the fridge.”

    2. Hello Cuzzie… I had to go out and listen to that song by J-Lo and MA as I read this story of yours… once again you have crafted something so full of wonder and emotions… I fear they are going to suffer a great lose that will test the mantle of there love… I know that Grumpy isn’t a huge fan of to much angst so I’m sure you will pull out all the stops… once again your creative well is over running with so much beauty… love and hugs my most precious Cuzzie, Love and Hugs, JC (Latin Nephew to those Salsa Angels and your ever loving Cuzzie)

    3. PS – Tell Grumpy to check her PM and also to get started on that story already I know she has been working on it LMAO… love and hugs “Grumpy”, JC

    4. Geez…I’m still recovering from the last Belena tragedy…please make this one have a happy ending. The story made me go “Ahhhhh” several times and it’s only the first chapter – wow! I can’t wait for more.

    5. No Me Ames, huh? :) It was the title that first caught my attention. No Me Ames by JLo is one of my favorites from her. Then I saw who wrote it, that’s when I knew this is a winner. But I can’t help but to think what the twist would be. No Me Ames is Don’t Love Me in english if my memory serves me right. Lots of possibilities out there. :) Happy New Year, dear! I’m happy to see that things are turning out well for you. *hugs*
