    “We’re just 2 friends, 2 good friends,2 best friends…”

    Bette: Alex!

    Alex: What?

    Bette: Stop. I feel bad enough.

    Alex slouched down in his seat a little uncomfortably.

    Alex: Sorry.

    Bette: It’s ok. You can make it up to me. Just tell me what to do.

    Alex: About what?

    Bette: How do I get Tina out of my head?

    Alex reached across the table taking Bette’s hands in his own.

    Alex: It’s not that easy sweetie. Your brain wants to forget about her but, like you told her, you’re heart beats for her.

    Bette’s eyes shot open.

    Bette: Wait, how did you know about that?

     

    Alex shrugged his shoulders.

    Bette: She told you that?

    Alex: Maybe.

    Bette: Ugh. You know for once I would like to be able to say something without it being spread around the world.

    Alex: Do you wanna know what she said about you?

    Bette: No!

    Alex cocked his head to one side.

    Bette: Yes!

    Alex: Well I’m not telling!!

    Bette: You are such an *****!

    Alex: Maybe, but if you really want to know what Tina thinks then sit down and talk to her.

    Bette: Not a chance.

    Alex: Why are you so stubborn?

    Bette: Why are you so nosey?

    Alex: Because I love you and I want you to be happy.

    Bette: I don’t think my happiness has anything to do with you being a gossip queen.

     

    Bette heaved a sigh.

    Bette: Maybe I’m just not destined for happiness.

    Alex: Don’t say that. You have to make your own happiness.

    Bette: I don’t know how.

    Alex: I have to go, but I leave you with this advice.

    He leaned over and placed a kiss on Bette’s cheek before standing up. Reaching deep into his jeans pocket he pulled out a slip of paper and slid it across the table.

    Bette opened the folded piece of paper.

    Alex: Think about it.

    Alex walked out of the diner with a winner’s grin. Maybe this time he had actually gotten through.

    The next morning Tina had awoken in the same position she had fallen asleep in, clutching the phone. Realizing the time she sprung out of bed and ran into the living room.

    19. How am I supposed to prepare myself for whats coming when I dont know whats coming. And with you, shit happens, you never. Although you see my predictions have been on the money, still I wouldnt put anything past you. Well, I must say, its nothing personal, but after Sara called Tina a twit, she lost all my cool points. LOL. I really need to stop taking this so seriously, please just try not o kill me. I loved this chapter, I see a bit of the old Bette coming back, where she didnt want to let anybody in. But I must say, I think this is unfair to Tina. I mean Bette did some pertty fucked up shit too.       Girl, you got it going on!
      The chit chat between Bette and Alex then Alice and Tina is inspired.
      This dialogue rattles off the screen.
      I do think that there will be lows before the highs btu it life you have to stand and fight for what you believe is yours. All the heartache and pain will be shortlived because the outcome will complete you.
      Others will get hurt but they too will heal over time and can build new relationships in the future.
      It is dishonest to stay with someone out of pity and a fear of destroying them. This will be the result but will take years and be more difficult to bounce back from.
      I know that in your heart Bette and Tina will overcome all these obstacles and reunite however life does get in the way. This story expertly mirrors this and gives so much pleseure and joy to all readers.
