“Angie is very lucky and we are lucky that she knows that – Tina is a fantastic mom “
Peggy smiled sweetly and looked at Tina
“And how is Bette doing as a mom ?”
Tina looked at Bette
“She is just fantastic – very patient and loving and Angie just idolises her “
Bette grinned “ Thanks honey “
Peggy grinned – it really was a strange world when the normally so serious and sad Bette Porter could clearly be so besotted by her partner and their child. She decided that regardless of Helena’s opinion she would do what she could to be a good friend to this couple.
“Well I am going to enjoy this exhibition – I will call James on Monday and fix up a lunch appointment with you “ Peggy looked at Tina “ My dear it is so delightful to meet you”
“Thank you Peggy “ Tina said gracefully
Peggy smiled and walked away.
Bette looked at Tina – they both grinned at the same time
“Is she always like that ?”
“Well I have never seen her bitch slapping her daughter but its not unexpected – she is really one in a million “
“She seems very fond of you “
“She does – I have known Peggy for years – you know that and in over a decade I have never met her daughter”
Tina grinned “That was funny “
Bette laughed “It was “
Tina looked across the gallery at Peggy who had taken a glass of champagne from a young waiter and was chatting to him
“You okay ?” Bette asked her lover
Tina nodded “I realised how badly Helena treated me and how badly I let her treat me”
Bette lent forward and kissed Tina softly on the lips
“That’s in the past “
“It is “ Tina said “I am different and I don’t remember ever being this happy “
Bette smiled “I am glad – I will always take care of you to the best of my abilities”

AllyE, thanks so much for another chapter this week, it was awesome. Now that Peggy knows what helena has been up to I hope she does something to restore that job that Tina had wanted in NYC. It was so good to read of Peggy’s dressing down of helena in public and sending her away from them. Peggy is my girl. Bette is so bad making Tina yell while she was on the phone, funny stuff. Fantastic chapter. Thanks again for posting.
