    Bette and Tina are finally in bed, reconnecting and reclaiming each other, when all of a sudden….

    If those were practice, Im not sure Im ready for the real thing, Tina said with a slight grimace.

    So what, did Bettes legendary sexual technique send your body directly into labor? asked Alice coming into the room.

    Bette and Tina stole a glance at each other and Tina lifted her brow slightly in response.

    Oh my God. Im right! That poor little niece of mine is in there screaming stop the roller coaster, I want to get off!. You two really have to cool it or youre going to have to feed her Dramamine with her breastmilk, Alice smiled at them.

    TMI, said Kit holding both hands palm up in front of her before leaning over to kiss Tinas cheek. Ill see you tomorrow. And you know you can call me anytime, day or night, sis.

    Bette, I feel like such a fool, said Tina as she pulled Bettes arms more tightly around her as they spooned in bed, Bettes front to Tinas back. How am I going to tell when Im really in labor?

    Youll know, youll know. Everythings fine now, babe, she paused. Youre exhausted, go to sleep, whispered Bette while stroking Tinas hair.

    Tinas breathing evened out and became very slow and regular. Bette reluctantly untangled her arms from around Tina, shaking them to bring blood flow back to her tingling extremities. She laid on her back and looked at the drawn blinds, just now emitting the first light of dawn through the narrow slits.

    Bette drew in a deep breath and wondered if Alice had any idea how close to home she had hit. Dr. Wilson had told them that *****, and ***** in particular, this late in pregnancy could bring on these contractions. Bette pushed down the nagging thought that kept rearing unbidden into her consciousness. Perhaps a higher power was still punishing her for her transgressions. Maybe she wasnt meant to ever make love to Tina again. Maybe she wasnt good for Tina. The thought caused a wave of pain to course through her body.

    Bette reached over to hold Tina again, ignoring the pins and needles in her arms. Tina made a small hmmm noise as she pressed further into the protective arms around her.

    5. Hey, i’m with chasemenow, with an update this good i would wait as long as it takes:) I hope Bette doesn’t get too ‘spooked’ by the false alarm…they can try again closer to the due date *wink*, to bring on the little one..hehe….Thanks for another wonderful chapter!
