    Mama Kennard and Sam land in Philly…bad boy John still lurks in the shadows….

    “Yes, she broke it off with him a while before she met Bette…and dumb me!  I thought he was so charming and foolishly gave that boy, John Braxton, her number….”

     

    Sam’s eyes opened to the size of banjos.

     

    “What?  Did you just say John Braxton?   John Braxton, son of big daddy ‘I’ll give my boy everything’ Braxton?” Sam cut in.

     

    “Yes.  Oh, of course, you would know them.”

     

    “Ann, he is definitely number one on the slime ball list.  The father is just about tolerable, but little sonny boy takes the prize for arrogance.  Thank goodness she got rid of him.”

     

    “He was certainly charming to me, but then it always got what he wanted, and the last time it was her phone number.  Sometimes I just don’t know what I’m thinking.  I guess I just want to see the best in people.”

     

    “My concern is he’s the kind of man that does the walking away.  I don’t think he would take too kindly to Tina leaving him.  Has she heard from him?”

     

    “She never said.”

     

    “Let’s hope because she’s a distance away that he moved on to his next victim.  He’s been quite successful with all the acquired ‘big boys’ cases and clients from daddy.  It’s given him an even bigger ego and attitude. He’s a womanizer, Ann, with a mean streak to boot.”

     

    “Now you’ve got me worried, Sam.”

     

    “Let’s talk to Tina and see what’s been happening.  I’m sorry if I’ve caused you worry, Ann, but I simply don’t trust men like John Braxton.”

     

    “I’m so glad we’re going to see her and Bette.  Everything will be just fine regarding John, I’m sure.”  Ann squeezed Sam’s hand, but Sam knew by the look on Ann’s face that she wasn’t very sure at all.

    “That’s a good boy,” Charlie Morris said as he took the small package from Ray’s extended hand.

     

    “Yeah, yeah.  I’ve got to go.”  Ray turned to leave.

     

    Morris reached out and put a firm grip on Ray’s arm.  “What’s the matter, Ray, too busy to stop for a quick thank you fuck?  That’s not like you at all.”

     

    “You know what, Charlie, sometimes you piss me off.”

    3. So happy to see this post. Boy Tina is really nervous and, of course all will be okay. They will like each other, much. Sam to the rescue on this one since she knows badboy John and his ilk and has the connections to take care of him. There is a special place in hell reserved for people like John, Charlie Morris and Ray, and they all will get what is coming to them in spades. Thanks for posting. Post when you can.

    6. John Braxton soundsd like a piece of work that is going to cause lots of trouble. I hope that Sam and Ann can warn Bette and Tina before things get out of control.

    11. John belongs in the nut house! charlie and ray are creepy!! hope tina’s mom’s visit is ends on a good note, cuz it seems john is gonna strike again? :)PPS

    13. I am worried that Tina is going to get hurt (physically) by John or Charle’s and his gang. They may try to hurt Tina through Bette which is just as bad. Keep them safe and also keep her mom safe.
