    My Immortal – 5

“Oh? You’re being kind of presumptuous. Listen, just because something almost happened back at your apartment doesn’t mean anything is going to happen now. I heard what you mom said, or more so what she meant.”

This sent Tina into a fit of laughter, and as much as I loved her laughter I felt left out of some stupid joke and I was the butt of the punch line. She just shook her head. “Bette, you can’t sleep where we are. Why do you think everyone is partying until 6 in the morning. You may feel tired now, but give it some time. You body is still adjusting. Welcome to Geneva.”

I roll my eyes and say no more because our shots have been placed in front of us and all I want right now is a drink. The effects of our last drinks have worn off- and I am packed inside of a room filled with auras, and it’s making me nauseous. I pick up the shot glass, but Tina grabs my forearm. “Wait, I’ve got a better idea- Reynoldo can I just have the bottle? I have limes and salt in my room.”

He nods his head and hands her the entire bottle of tequila. He is a big man. Arms bigger than my neck, that are covered in hair. “There you go Ms. Tina.”

“Thanks Reynoldo.” She grabs my hand and we exit the club, only to walk down a long hall of doors. It’s endless- literally. I look down the hall searching for something to end it. I turn to Tina who I concentrating on the lock. The door opens. “Tina does this hall ever end?”

“No, well actually I don’t know. I’ve never made it to the end. As a child I would run up and down these halls trying to find the end, but gave up.” She giggles at the memory as she walks into the room. I follow behind her.

This room is much different from her apartment, it’s darker. There are hard wood floors, a heavy black duvet covers the king size bed; but on consistency, there is a vase of those same flowers- except the tulip. She sits down on a black leather couch that is in the middle of the room and sit’s the bottle and glasses on the table. I look out the corner of my eye and limes are floating by my head along with the salt shaker. I giggle. “Oh you thought that was funny?” She asks.
