    SERIES CHALLENGE # 1- Alice brings Jess home. Jess and Bette spend the evening together.

    "I bet. The only help I had was from one of the waiters who blocked the ball with a tray long enough for me to get out." Alice said getting up to go.

    "Where are you going?" Bette asked.

    "Home. I need a good night of sleep, and we both know if I stay here neither one of us will get that." Alice said.

    "Okay." Bette said really needing a night to herself also. It had been three weeks since she had meet Alice and they had spent nearly every night together.

    "Do you want me to get the rug rat tomorrow so she doesn’t have to spend the day cooped up in the Gallery?" Alice asked.

    "No that’s okay." Bette said.

    "Okay will I see you two at lunch tomorrow?" Alice asked.

    "Yeah 12:30 at the planet?" Bette said.

    "Sounds good. I will see you then." Alice said and left but not with out kissing her beautiful girlfriend.

    Bette sat on the couch with Jess holding her.

    "Mommy what are you reading?" Jess asked.

    "Its a Catalog of photographs." Bette said. Jess turned around and leaned back against Bette. Her thumb was still in her mouth.

    "There are pretty pictures." Jess said.

    "They are." Bette said.

    Bette flipped through the catalog. Together they studied each photograph. They talked about some of them. Bette tried to answer her daughters many questions after a couple pages Jess grew quiet. The only sound she made was the sucking of her thumb. Watched the pages turned as she was being told an elaborate fairy tale. She eventually turned around so that she was facing Bette again. She laid her head against Bette’s chest and listened to her heart beat.

    "Baby do you want to go get in the bed?" Bette asked Jess. Jess shook her head no. "Well let’s go take a bath and then you can come back out and sit on the couch for awhile." Bette said.

    "Okay." Jess said sleepily. Bette knew that if she didn’t get Jess in the tub now she would have to go to bed dirty. Bette also that Jess would get a second wind after she took a bath. And she was right.

    1. Really like this addition to this story. And with all of the drama going on in the the more recent future of this story it’s nice to see Bette and Jess their closeness. I really like how you’re writing the Alice and Bette story too! Can’t wait to see how you’re gonna tackle their break up with Jess so obviuosly forming a bond with Alice!
