Previously:

As soon as Dana get out." Bette said looking at Jess’s dirty hands.

Dana walked quickly over to them she was obviously excited about something.

"Okay so I have so very very very good News." She said.

Alice walked in the front door carrying Jess who was asleep. Bette was sitting on the couch reading.

"Where have you two been?" She asked knowing that they had been at Chucky Cheese since Alice picked Jess up from school.

"At that damned Chucky Cheese." Alice said. Jess stirred at the sound of Bette’s voice. She reached for her.

"Mommy." Jess said holding her arms out for Bette to take her.

"Was it that bad?" Bette asked.

"Let’s just say it will be awhile before we go back. I have never seen so many kids going wild before. I swear they must put something in the water there or in the soda." Alice said.

"Awww poor thing." Bette said caressing Alice’s face.

"Go ahead I know you want to tell me I told you so." Alice said flopping down on the couch with Jess still in her arms. Jess moved off of Alice on into Bette’s lap. Her thumb instinctively went into her mouth. Bette smiled at Alice, but figured she didn’t need to hear the I told you so from her.

"Did you have fun with Al today?." Bette said. She brushed a stray hair from Jess’s face. Jess nodded yes as she rubbed Bette’s ear lobe. This action annoyed the hell out of Bette when Jess first started doing it but she had grown to love it. Sometimes she even found herself doing it when Jess was in New York with her father. Even thought the visits were extremely short it was the hardest time for Bette being away from her daughter.

"You know as tired as I am I had fun today too." Alice said.

"Al was so funny mommy. When she landed in the ball pit everyone started throwing balls at her and she couldn’t get out." Jess said briefly freeing her thumb and then returning it as soon as she was finished.

"She did. I wish I could have seen that." Bette said laughing as she pictured the incident in her head.
