Meet Bette Porter: The 30 Yr OLd Virgin(33)
Peter adjusted on his seat, looked at his drawing, and smiled at his work. The woman on his drawing had the same black curly hair like his and black complexion like his. But what he loved about the drawing was her smile. The woman was seated with three younger women and they all were having a great time at the party. He knew just by looking at them that those people loved each other like a family and he hoped to have a family of his own one day… one day… he thought.

“Tina your mom wants to know if the food is about to be ready?” Nancy asked
Tina was working frantically; she miscalculated the time and thought that everything will be ready in ten minutes but that ten minutes was like thirty minutes ago. The original plan was that Sam and Dana would help her serve the food but since the three went to the hospital, suddenly, she was in a panic mode.
“Tell mom It’ll be ready in five minutes” the blonde answered
“You want me to help you?”
“Oh no no no I’m fine just take care of mom”
“Alright I’ll go outside now”
“Okay see yah”
Tina took a deep breath and told herself ‘You can do it Tina’
She went to the oven to get the Chocolate cake out. She smiled when she opened the oven because it was done so perfectly and she was sure that her mom would love it. She slowly removed it and put it on the counter table behind her. She closed the oven and realized that she needed to turn off the stove to avoid the food from being overcooked. Tina took a step and didn’t see a big onion lying on the floor, she stepped on it and accidentally tripped, her hands went flying in the air knocking the cake off to the floor.
“Fuck!”
Suddenly Tina felt the fatigue taking over her body as she sadly looked at the cake, although still placed on the cake pan it was already split into half. How stupid she could be for not seeing the stupid onion. She didn’t know what to do, she didn’t have anyone to help her serve the food to the guests, the cake that she promised to her mom was now ruined, everything seemed to be going downhill.
Tina just remained seated on the floor and felt her eyes filling up with tears; she couldn’t believe that the perfect cake that she was just admiring a moment ago was now cracked into two. She covered her face to hide the tears
“Tina…”
Her heart jumped when she heard that soft voice, the blonde removed her hands from her face and slowly looked up only to see the beautiful face that would always take her breath away… worry was so evident in her dark brown eyes
“Need help?”
to be continued…

Wonderful update, thanks
Phacey, you’re doing such a good job with this story.
Hey phacey … I haven’t commented on the last several chapters of this story so I’m going to make up for lost time by leaving you one of my ‘famous’ diatribes. I hope you don’t mind, but if you do just ignore me. I won’t be offended and I hope I don’t offend. You have added so many twists and turns to this story that the emotional rollercoaster is almost too overwhelming to care if TiBette ever happens. I’ve no interest in them being a couple and the longer the journey drags on the less it matters. I was never convinced that they have anything more between them than the shared experience of Bette’s first time. Their reaction to each other tells me they are still so far away from this supposed ‘greatest love of all’. I would really love to see a ‘real relationship’ develop between them based on trust, and values, and honesty, and integrity, and all the things that bring two people together in a meaningful everlasting love that goes beyond sexual attraction. To me these two are in ‘lust’. I am not convinced by any of their actions (past or present) that they fell ‘in love’ in the few days they were together. As for Sam she may be hurt but I have a feeling she’s already seeing the writing on the wall. If she’s smart she’ll make the first move just like Sarah did and get out of a relationship that isn’t going anywhere. She went into it knowing Tina’s heart would never be hers, and no matter how long they’ve been dating that hasn’t changed. Sam is already showing the insecurity and the frailty of the relationship if she felt the need to act differently around Bette than she normally would in public with Tina and Tina’s irritation of her being affectionate in front of Bette proves that her feelings are justified. I think Sam needs to voice her concerns, Tina needs to be honest and they should agree to end it as friends before things get ugly. Don’t drag out the break-up, just get rid of Sam and allow her to move on. She’s better off alone than with someone who is just biding time. You also hinted in a previous chapter about Helena still having feelings for Tina and knowing your penchant for DRAMA I imagine Helena is behind the grant and will come wanting Tina back just when Sam is out of the picture. Have your fun, but what I’m really interested in is how Tina could possibly know that Peter is Kit’s son, not say anything to her, and keep the child hidden from his mother after hearing both their stories. It’s almost cruel to think that she would prolong a reunion between them. It really boggles my mind, but then Tina never was affected by anything outside of herself. Even when Bette first told her the events of finding Kit she showed little interest or compassion. If she was paying attention she would have made the connection immediately when she first met Kit. Now that she knows Kit is Bette’s sister is her plan to use Peter and Kit as the lure to get Bette back into her life? Is Peter the ‘Angie card’ that most TiBette stories play? I anxiously await how you play out your hand. Thank you for keeping this interesting, so that even the long wait between posts is forgiven. Hope to see another soon.
Yeah, I know your predicament…. how do you “write it off” a good character. Hirap ng situation mo?.. ..But still trust your judgement… I know in the and of the day… You know what’s a “good story”.. thanks phacey!
Phacey sweetie thanks for another update! I have been following this story from the very beginning and enjoyed every post. I can understand if ur having difficulty getting our favorite couple together and removing Sam in the picture but please take ur time and allow the flow of the story to guide u. I trust that a time will come when u’ll see the whole picture much clearer and im sure its worth the wait. Talk to you soon my friend(;
Oh no, not the cake….geez! Bette Porter to the rescue :-) thanks for another great post!
Thank for another great update. Getting rid of characters isn’t easy, welcome to the world of writers. You do an amazing job if English isn’t your primary language. Your writing flows so smoothly. It will be interesting to see how a TiBette comes about in your story. I look forward to the adventure.
Great update thank you
