Magic in the Air! Ch 13

"Do you have one?" Jimmy asked.

    "I do." Bette said.

"What does it look like?" He asked.

"It isn’t in the text books?" Bette asked.

    "No Ma’am." He said.

"I see. Callie will you come up for a second." Bette said.

    "Show them Will’s." She said.

"Your’s is more distinct and intricate." Bette said.

Callie made her way up to the front of the class room.

"T. Do you have a tissue or something?" Bette asked.

"Will a baby wipe work?" Tina asked.

"That would be perfect." Bette said.

"Here you go." Tina said handing her the wipe.

"Thank you." Bette said as Callie reached her. Callie handed a sleeping Jack to Tina. Callie turned her back towards Bette. Bette proceeded to wipe something off of Callie’s lower back. She then held her hand over the marking. Bette pointed her other hand and the chalk board. The pieces of Chalk whizzed around the board creating a enlarged copy of the mark on the board.

"The way the mark works is this. The more powerful you are the more distinct and intricate the mark is. Everyone’s mark is different but they all have the central symbol of family love, loyalty and honor in center." Bette explained.

"That looks more like a tattoo than it does a birthmark." Dawn said.

"Well technically it is. A magical one. Its an ancient spell woven through time." Bette said.

Tina was amazed and great of a teacher Bette was.

After another hour of questions the dismissal bell rang. Callie and Ned went to the library to start on their project. Tina and Bette remained in the classroom. Bette was carefully examining the replica of Callie’s mark.

"What are you thinking?" Tina asked.

"I have learned more about my daughter by the events today and this mark than I have in the past couple of years." Bette said with tears in her eyes.

"And what would that be?" Tina asked.

"That she isn’t my little girl anymore. She’ll never again run to me with flowers in her hair eager to tell me of the day she had playing in the fields, and that she is destined to suffer with a burden she shouldn’t have to carry." Bette said.

    2. Hi, thanks for the update. So, do we get a little family time where Tina will answer Callie’s question? And of course we will be needing some B&T time along with some fun family time. These kids have such a burden to bare, it would be great to see them having fun and laughs together as a family. PPS :o).
