    Lover’s Lapse – Chapter 39

“I’m going blind here,” Alice yelled as she covered her face with her hands.  “Plus for goodness sake there is a child here girls!”

“But she can’t see anything she has her face covered up,” Bette laughed.

When the day finally wound to a close Bette and Alice watched t.v. while Tina showered.  As she heard the shower end Bette stood up and said, “Well I guess that means goodnight Al.  Thanks for helping me with everything today and whether you believe me or not I really do appreciate all your help.”

As Bette started down the hall Alice called, “Bette? Have you told Tina that you have to go home to L.A. the day after tomorrow?”

“I told her that I could only take off until the 28th,” Bette replied.  “Why do you ask?  Oh shit! You don’t think she remembers do you?”

“Well when you told her she was still pretty out of it with the delivery and all.”  Alice glanced nervously at Bette.  “What I guess I’m trying to say is when are you going to remind her?”

Entering the bedroom Bette slid beneath the cover and waited for Tina to finish in the bathroom.

As she entered the bedroom Tina looked at Bette and said, “Have I told you lately how much I love you?”

She slipped beneath the cover and scooted against Bette.  “I believe that you may have mentioned it but it never hurts to reinforce it,” Bette laughed.

Tina smiled at her and laid her head against Bette’s chest allowing her hand to draw random patterns on Bette’s exposed flesh.  As she continued to gently caress her she sighed loudly.

“What is it baby?” Bette asked softly.

“I had just forgotten how right it feels to be in your arms.” She whispered.

Tina felt Bette’s body stiffen beneath her.  Lifting her head she looked up into Bette’s face with a questioning look.

Knowing how tumultuous things were between them Bette took a deep breath before she spoke.  “T I have to go back to L.A. the day after tomorrow.  Do you remember me telling you that I was expected back on the 29th?”

    1. this was a wonderful conversation the slow process of mending together. too bad that stories on TV can’t involve conversations between characters who love one another.

    2. I have enjoyed this story from day one. I hope that you continue to write as I will continue to read. Despite the angst on the show, I hope that it does not influence you except to stay motivated in the direction that you want to take this story. The stories on this site are great, most of the time I read them as not being apart of the show but as the author’s creation. I guess what I am trying to say is that whether or not B&T survive, you can always write that they will be together. It’s your story. Looking forwaard to the next chapter.

    3. I am so glad that these two lovely ladies are talking. Congradulation on your reward. Your story brings me joy and helps me to make it throught the day.

    4. Great chapter. Please let them work it out happily and in love with each other with the baby in their home in LA. I know that is a lot to ask but PLEASE. Thanks for the post.

    5. Congratulation…the award is well deserved. You are an amazing writer and I just love the story. I’m glad that B & T are willing to take it slow so to mend their marriage. They are talking and listening and planning for a future. They have a destination but are working together in paving the journey. Please continue and thanks for the update.
