“Thanks, James.”
“I’m going to order lunch to be brought in.”
“Great. Thanks for taking care of me, James. Hey, Kit, what’s up?”
“I need to talk to my baby sis.”
“Kit, what’s the matter? Did Ivan do something to youare you okay?”
“No, calm down, everything is okay – I just – I just needed to tell you”
“Kit, you’re freakin’ me out here.”
“I just wanted to tell you I joined the club.”
“WHAT!! Sorry about that. Are you okaywell, you sound okayI mean I never thought you”
“Oh, baby sis, stop babbling. I’m no young chippie anymore and I didn’t want to leave this life wondering, umm, maybe I should have given that a go, know what I mean? Anyway, the time was right and the feelings were right, so I went for it. And.”
“And.?”
“Oooh, honey, your big sis got her boat rocked, *****, that boat capsized, know what I mean?”
Bette laughed, but she still was worried about her sister getting hurt.
“Listen, you don’t have to answer this, but was it as”
“You can ask and I’ll tell only you. Only way I would do it is if it were without the accoutrements. *****, I already know about men.”
“And Ivan went along with that?”
“He said for me, yes. And let me tell you, baby sis – well, I better not go into details, know what I mean, except to say three times he – she went along with it.”
“Oh my, Kit. Just please be careful, okay? I still worry about you.”
“Honey, I’m enjoying the ride. Right now it feels great. When it stops feeling great, I’ll do what needs to be done. I better get back to work. Just wanted to let you know. I haven’t given up on men. Just exploring my options, ya know?”
“I’m glad you called, Kit. Love you.”
Bette shook her head and smiled. The stories, the drama, it just keeps happening. They make soap operas from stuff like this –
Bette Porter took her few seconds then to keep with her tradition. Hand over heart, eyes closed, and in a reverent whisper, “Hear me, Tina Kennard, you are my life, such as my heart; without you, its beating would be meaningless. I love you more each day.”

godd chappie, I agree with every that Tina should listen to her inner ear as it warn her about Susan. The best bit of news in this chapter is the fact that Helena bought Susan’s house. This is something that Alice should be able to find out and sink her teeth into. Come on Alice, get your nosey behind to snooping!!
McCutcheon Security……..Susan, this is what friends are for!………….. Tina said a silent thank you again for these people who have become her family. They’ve proven over and over again that in some cases – certainly in mine, Tina thought – friendship is so much thicker than blood.

Tina isn’t quick to forget…so why is she ignoring her first instinct of Susan? She’s so naive…her heart’s so big and willing to give everyone the benefit of the doubt — that’s going to hurt her and her family in the long run.
