    Bette the Great testifies…Faye Buckley stares…Kelly arrives in LA…Let Justice rule

     

     

     

    Nancy walked over to Bette and Tina.

     

    “You both did fine.  The next witness is James, Bette.  He’s probably out in the hallway.  You can both go now, if you’d like.”

     

    “I’d like,” Bette said.

     

    “Now, just remember I absolutely need you here tomorrow, Bette.  Tina, you’re certainly welcome to be here with Bette, if you’d like to.  I know it’s difficult when you have an infant.”

     

    “If Kit could watch Angelica, I’d like to be here to support Bette.”

     

    “Fine.  See you tomorrow.   If you would, please get here around the same time as you did today, and please just come inside the courtroom.  I do not want you to wait in the hallway. You, too, Tina. Okay?

     

    “Yes.”

     

    “And, Bette” Nancy glanced at Alice, Shane, Dana, Carmen & Jenny in the row behind them, but honed in on Alice and Shane. “It’s all right if Bette’s Rangers are here also.”  She smiled at them and walked back to counsel table.

     

    Alice and Shane looked at each other.  Alice said, “Hot damn, she could question me all she wantsdo you think she plays on our team?”

     

    Everyone turned to Alice.  “Alice!”

     

    “Try to remember why we’re here, Al,” Shane said.

     

    As they left the courtroom, Alice nudged Shane.  The same two beauts on the other side of the courtroom in Buckley’s gallery were staring at her again.    Shane narrowed her eyes and made like she was going over to them.  They got up and moved to the other end of the row.

             

    The rest of the afternoon was taken up with James’ testimony and the paramedics.  The tape from the debate was also entered into evidence. 

     

    Nancy told the judge the last three witnesses were scheduled for tomorrow and once their testimony is in, the State will rest its case.

     

    Court was adjourned until 9:30 am tomorrow.

     

    Stan turned to Faye.  “Last chance, Faye.  Is there anything you can tell me about the witnesses from the list that are going to be called tomorrow?  Do you know them?  Have you talked to them?”

     

    Faye sat stone-faced.   “I told you no.  God will be my witness.”

      Tension is so palpable all along the testimonies, like only a very fine and acurate build up can success.
      Everything is also SO realistic, I simply felt being set in the audience…
      And god, how much I’m waiting Kelly’s testimony, more than ever, hoping to see Buckley’s arrogance fully broken !
