    Bette the Great testifies…Faye Buckley stares…Kelly arrives in LA…Let Justice rule

     

    Faye broke her stare but not her expression.

     

    “Bette, I’m going to ask you questions about what happened on the day you were attacked and other times before that day.   Please make your answers verbally.  The Court Reporter is taking down every word that is said in the courtroom so you can’t shake your head or say ‘umm-umm.’  We have to know in words what your answer is.  Okay?

     

    “Yes.”

     

    Nancy then had Bette describe her job, the show Provocations and her first meeting with Faye Buckley, any words that passed between them, the protestors that showed up at Bette’s house and the debate.

     

    “Bette, as you’ve said, this debate was about the show Provocations and the art contained in the show, correct?”

     

    “Yes, it was – at least that’s what it was supposed to be about.”

     

    “Did Faye Buckley direct any comments to you personally?”

     

    “Yes.  She said the reason my partner and I lost our baby” Bette fought back the tears, “was because God took him from us so he wouldn’t be brought up in our disgusting, depraved and sinful lifestyle.” 

     

    “Did something precede that remark from her?”

     

    “Yes.  She was going on about how the art was pornographic and was of no value at all to our society.  I brought out a tape that I had of her daughter”

     

    “Objection, your Honor.”

     

    “Overruled, counsel.” 

     

    “And what kind of tape was this?”

     

    “It was a porno film and the star of the film was Faye Buckley’s daughter.”

     

    The film was marked into evidence. 

     

    Nancy then went into more detail about the debate, covered some more questions about her interactions with Faye.  Then into as much detail as Bette could remember about the day of her attack.  She had Bette testify as to her college and post graduate education at Yale.

     

    Nancy approached the witness stand with photographs.

     

    “First, Bette, we’re not going to have you undress, but can you tell us if these pictures accurately describe the injuries you sustained by the knife attack in this case?”

     

    Bette looked at the pictures.

     

    “Yes, they do.  They’re pretty much scarred over now.”

    2. Wonderful piece of writing here, bravo !

      Tension is so palpable all along the testimonies, like only a very fine and acurate build up can success.
      Everything is also SO realistic, I simply felt being set in the audience…
      And god, how much I’m waiting Kelly’s testimony, more than ever, hoping to see Buckley’s arrogance fully broken !
